I believe that we will win. Minneapolis.

I am seeing quite a few nurses calling for a nationwide strike over the killing of Alex Pretti. I think we are seeing one of the largest workforces being radicalized before our very eyes.

You probably don’t even know how deeply this touches us. The one thing we want and need in MN is for the rest of the county to pick up the torch.
Protesters chanting "We're not cold, we're not afraid, Minne[apolis/sota] taught us to be brave" in Boston tonight outside Government Center station.

It’s CONGRESS that can stop ICE and CBP deployment to MN. The Dems (and any responsible Rs?) should introduce legislation and agitate for a vote: “No federal funds may be used for further activities of ICE or CBP in the state of Minnesota, except for their prompt withdrawal.”

Last time ICE murdered someone in the street (~2 weeks ago) they spent the rest of day trying to kidnap people in the rest of the city, & pepper sprayed/tear-gassed a highschool.
Keep an eye on your own block, yr own neighborhood, yr own people.
It's still early in the day and they're everywhere.

Just got off the phone with Opus - we stepped up and prevented an ICE facility in our community which would have harmed Minnesotans.

Great work, all!!!

One morning went walking along Lake Street's side
Now mark well what followed in that wintertide
As the cold Friday morning was dawning

A number of people from out-of-state have been opening tabs at small businesses—coffee shops where people on patrol can grab a drink and warm up, bars where people can be in community, etc. It’s been a deeply appreciated form of solidarity and helps the businesses closing tomorrow.
how (if at all) can we support the minnesota general strike on friday from afar?

My take on the Jan 23 action in Minneapolis is that I don’t really care whether it’s a “true” general strike (we could argue about that all day).

What DOES matter is that it’s a bold and necessary escalation, and local labor leaders are publicly encouraging workers to join in anti-ICE resistance

I saw that a cafe in Northeast Mpls is participating in the strike and inviting neighbors to have a potluck in the space on Friday night. It would be so beautiful if this happened around the state. We keep us safe and feed!

Target your salt is no good, it couldn’t melt the ICE, even in your own parking lot-we had to return it. Then we bought de-icer. That didn’t work either. Returned it too. Long lines, dissatisfied shoppers. Tick Tock. We will be back. #ICEOUT
We were back at Target today, buying & retuning salt (to melt ice).

The manager told us were affecting their business. 🫡

We’ll keep coming until Target publicly:

Calls for ICE to leave MN

Affirms Target stores as fourth amendment workplaces

Calls for Congress to stop funding ICE

#ICEOut now!!

Let is be
the minnesota occupation is, i think, already a political defeat for the administration, and i don't see how it eventually ends as anything other than a major political disaster
