Half the time when Leslie Lee would come on my podcast (or vise versa) we would disagree on whether the film, comic or tv show in question was good.
But his take was always eye opening and he would show me something I hadn’t perceived before. Most recently re the Batman Caped Crusader show.

Very different from backing a challenger to the House Minority Leader.

I'd love to see Hakeem lose, but if Zohran backs a challenge every power broker in NY will work to scuttle his agenda from Day 1. It's a smart move for him, and frankly his people are gonna work against Hakeem regardless

So when you get disabled or killed by COVID or the H5N1 flu, they'll say it's nobody's fault but your own, even though there are plenty of systemic measures your employer etc COULD have taken to reduce the risk, but didn't.

And when it wrecks a professional athlete's career, media & gov't will 🙈🙉🙊.

this is how New York, where people walk on average 3.3x more steps per day than it the rest of the US, famously avoided any substantial impacts from the pandemic.

I dunno, I've been running >120 km/week on a fairly regular basis since about 2013-2014 (on top of whatever functional walking I do) and this hasn't stopped me from getting both infectious and chronic illnesses. Masking post-2020 has meant I've only been infectious illness sick twice tho lol.

It’s not a MU21CVS.COM music challenge without me including an Iggy Pop song in my top 5.
This is the greatest cover of Search and Destroy ever. The notes Florence adds to Iggy’s vocal line heighten the emotion & power.

I first heard of them when they played the band The Agassar on Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. They sang a song in a fictional language based on their native Mongolian. But man does it rock.

It’s so uplifting it’s astonishing

The code is not complicated. Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.

As ICE Street Raids Ramp Up, New Yorkers Stock Up On Whistles
Taking a cue from Chicago, community groups have distributed thousands of whistles in recent weeks — a grassroots system people in other cities have adopted to help neighbors sound the alarm.
