In the Run-Up to Halloween, thought it was time for a new coat of paint.

Let this be the last time we hear Cuomoโ€™s name in politics. What a scumbag.

I can't believe NYC did it, but they managed to have a Mayoral race where the Republican *isn't* the most racist candidate. Incredible.

Cuomo killed more New Yorkers during COVID than al-Qaeda did on 9/11

I think Newsom may actually be Two-Face.

A coin flip: We're taxing billionaires to pay for Trump's Medicaid cuts and also let's be honest punish them for supporting Trump

A coin flip: Today on the pod we discuss the final solution to the homeless problem with special guest Nick Fuentes
California is readying a one-time 5% tax on billionaires for the 2026 ballot that would go toward compensating for Trump's Medicaid cuts. The architects see it as a national model.
It will be announced today.
Mostly the same applies there. Like Sliwa wasnโ€™t born privileged but he is a white guy which comes with its own privileges, like the largesse afforded to a white vigilante gang that beats up innocent people on camera is impossible for another group.
The standard canโ€™t be that, next to the child of a former governor, brother of a news anchor, and a longtime party magnate, you must be Victorian Poverty levels poor for you to contest the inauthenticity of your rivalโ€™s privilege. That is patently absurd.
Zohran isnโ€˜t blue collar but he is a self made success story. The same was true of Obama. Not blue collar but a self made meritocratic success story. The kind that is hard to achieve but they did it.
His mother is an independent filmmaker whose films were never big time box office earners, and had a niche audience with diaspora and English speaking Indians in India. Like letโ€™s not pretend that Zohran grew up with James Cameron money.

Cuomo can say Koล›ciuszko but not Mamdani?
Cuomo had his 9/11, COVID and he blew his second chance by getting seniors in nursing homes killed.

Two years since the release of Killers Of The Flower Moon, an actual Martin Scorsese film which, if you're the kind of person who wants a legit physical media copy rather than a pirated or suspiciously imported version, you still can't own because Apple refuse to release it or let anyone else do so.

The glorification of this needs to be stopped.
First - it's all bullshit. Any bit of acting by an actor these days is called "DID YOU KNOW this was improvised"
Second, this would be really fucking toxic
Third, actors CAN FUCKING ACT. They don't need to be "tricked" by someone else going off script
This is like those commercials in Wolf of Wall Street that Jordan shoots at the end, feeding lines to everyone.
I'm not joking, here is the video
The most important member of Mamdaniโ€™s team will always be Andrew Cuomo.
This is unironically so fucking funny for something the Cuomo โ€œteamโ€ just put out.
He uses Machine Gen commercials already, old fashioned plagiarism is a big quaint by comparison.
i guess Cuomo is just using Mamdani's campaign design now

I love this film REAL by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, itโ€™s like Inception but set in the world of mangaka creators.
Japan also has a better healthcare system. The overworking though is a general problem in Japan and itโ€™s a cultural thing boosted however by bad policies and unresolved historical issues.
Absolutely. The folk culture of comics in manga never left Japan. They cultivated a tradition there rather than just shutter stuff because of empty trend chasing.
Like it looks sharply at excesses of fans but also compassion. Like there but for the grace of godโ€ฆie if Scorsese didn't have the talent, luck, and friends he met, heโ€™d be Rupert, the guy who daydreams and obsesses over a life he can never have. 2
I always felt The King of Comedy was special. Scorsese said he understood both Langford and Rupert. Rupert was the crazy movie fan who longed to make it big, Langford was the guy who achieved success but is lonely, who he became. 1/
It was pretty rare even for his generation and group. And you can sense the survivors guilt, especially when he talks of the funeral of his friend who died young from cancer. Like he seems haunted by gotten out and made it big, but always remembering the people left behind. 2
