At least Sega went out with an innovative and beloved console that still has an extremely dedicated cult following decades later. The original Xbox and 360 have more than secured their legacy, but is *anyone* going to care about the Series X/S five, ten, twenty years from now? I really doubt it.

Oberon just assumes J'onn is fine, because it's J'onn! He's "solid as a rock"! But Max can tell that he's not coping well with the death of his former partner.

One thing that goes a long way in explaining J'onn and Max's unlikely closeness is that Max can see past J'onn's stoic mask in a way not many others can. It makes sense - he's a career schmoozer, of course he's great at reading people.

Exactly. JLI ramped up the comedy, as it did for every character, but it didn't come out of nowhere the way certain fans act like it did. It's very clearly right from the start that DC's Ted Kord is a different guy from Charlton's Ted Kord.

I think the BTATB portrayal is the perfect balance between this pre-JLI and post-JLI characterisation.

Some people complain about JLI turning Ted into a more comedic character, but I think those people need to realise that without that change of direction, Ted wouldn't have been able to stay relevant.
