Marjorie Taylor Greene came into Congress in 2021 worth about $700,000. She leaves five years later worth around $25,000,000. 😳 Congress is just a giant insider-trading scheme.

Supreme Court justices worried Bolsonaro would flee to the US embassy. Yet again, the US is a risk to global democracy and a place that the world's dictators see as a potential refuge from accountability.

Ao ordenar prisão, Moraes viu risco de fuga de Bolsonaro para embaixada dos EUA
'Rememoro que o réu, conforme apurado nestes autos, planejou a fuga para a embaixada da Argentina', disse Moraes

The one thing that gives me comfort is she’s a woman so she’ll never be president
The media fell in love with Trump — the most mendacious person in the world — because he gave them “interesting stories” and now they’re doing the same with her for the exact same reason

Greene spewed the worst vile poison at the left for years. After two weeks of being on the receiving end of that right wing vitriol, she's throwing in the towel. Lame. Lame and weak.

while I’m being cranky, access journalism needs to go. When the president does his “I’m alpha because I insulted you” thing somebody needs to fall on his sword and say “what the fuck is wrong with you, old man?” on a hot mic. the hero of the wizard of Oz is Toto.

i think if you want to have those disgusting LED headlights on your car, you should have to do a test where they blast you point blank with your own headlights and then you have 15 seconds to successfully complete some sort of vision-based task, and if you can't do it they push your car off a cliff

It's not even a morality issue---it's an equity issue.

In essence, about half the student body has to manage the prospect that approaching the professor for help, professional advice, guidance, or feedback is going to go sideways.

Women in his classes are not getting the same class.
I know that at this point it's a subplot in the Epstein files drama, but I feel compelled to point out, once again, that Larry Summers HAS NO BUSINESS teaching students at ANY university ever again!

Why Is Larry Summers Still Employed?
The revelations about the economist’s attempts to pressure a women into a “relationship”—with guidance from Jeffrey Epstein—should finally disqualify him from teaching students.

In 2024, Tierra Walker was sick and getting sicker. She was also pregnant.

She knew abortion was illegal in Texas, but thought there was an exception for women like her, whose health was at risk. Doctors told her there was no emergency.

Then she died.
