"What stayed with Amundson most, she said, was not the adrenaline of the moment but the realization that came while she was holding the [ICE] agent's head in her hands and keeping his airway open.

"I was hit so hard with the fact that this man would not do this for me," she said.

This didn't happen overnight. People worked thanklessly for years to lay foundations of solidarity, and it's because of their efforts that we're leveling up like this now. I'm prouder than ever that this is my home and these are my neighbors; more certain than ever that we have each other's backs.
50,000 Minnesotans marching downtown in subzero weather.

Thousands more patrolling the streets, delivering groceries, and caring for families.

Faith leaders getting arrested by the dozens in acts of civil disobedience.

This is Minnesota. We stand together.

It's odd looking at Airbnbs in the Italian beach town where you were once a child refugee. Recently my coworker spent a month in Italy and joked that her 5 year old is going to come home speaking Italian. I also learned Italian when I was 5 ... to help sell Ukrainian trinkets at the farmer's market.

Schools in Saint Paul were closed Tuesday and Wednesday as teachers prepared to do online and in-person teaching simultaneously due to safety concerns about ICE.

Kids in my daughter’s school refer to those two days off as Evil Break.

As in, “So what did you do over Evil Break?”

NEW: Kennedy's plan to study Hep. B vaccine in African babies has been suspended by Guinea-Bissau. Experts say the trial is unethical in a nation where 1 in 5 kids are exposed to Hep. B, which can take decades off their lives. HHS: the trial is "paused."

BARTIROMO: I mean, we talk about evil action from Putin going into Ukraine. People are looking at Greenland and saying, 'How is it possible the US can acquire another country even though they're pushing back?'

LUTNICK: I don't remember Greenland being another country. We're not taking over Denmark.

Domestic politics are horrific right now and likely will be for the next 5-10 years, but I'm quite optimistic that the collapse of Trumpism will lead to a rebirth of American political institutions that will get us closer to the democratic principles we like to believe we were founded on.
