I would like to thank the Liberal Party of Canada for helping shed whatever zionist views I may have held before October 8th. Before then, I believed that a 2 state solution was a viable option. So thank you Liberals! Thanks to you, I will be anti-zionist until my last breath. Fuck isreal forever!!!

If 31 Israelis had been massacred today it would be the start of a weeks worth of coverage, complete with personal interest stories, political condemnations, family interviews and endless commentary;
Instead we get virtual silence because it was 'only' another 31 Gazan Palestinians

Canadians horrified by what ICE is doing should realize the RCMP uses the same tactics domestically against Indigenous people and yet barely anyone speaks up.

Journalists have been arrested just for trying to cover it
Carol Linnitt, co-founder and editor-in-chief, provides an update on The Narwhal’s court case against the RCMP. Amber Bracken finished cross-examination late Jan. 28. It took more than 12 hours.

A Masterclass for a nearly unteachable skill
Like sometimes i watch actors and it improves MY acting. Like "ok, i can add that to my lil bag of acting tricks." And sometimes, i watch Catherine O'Hara. I just watch. And enjoy. Because what she does is not something you can imitate. Physically. The changing accents. The funny. 1 of 1.

Carney's dangerous austerity plan means fewer food inspectors & less capacity to track food borne illness. As the US is gutting its food safety regulations & Canada imports over half our food from the US, how does cutting food inspection here make us safer? www.thestar.com/politics/fed...
Food inspection agency to cut more than 1,300 jobs, says union
The union representing employees at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency says staff have been told there will be 1,371 agency jobs cut as part of the government's cost-cutting exercise.

As I wrote for @policyoptions.irpp.org, as the US guts its regulatory agencies, Canada must step up & expand-not cut-regulatory capacity. AI cannot replace experienced experts in food safety & disease surveillance. We're going to see more illnesses & deaths.

How Trump’s regulatory cuts threaten Canada’s safety
Trump’s dismantling of U.S. science agencies puts Canadians at risk. Canada must boost regulatory capacity to protect health and food safety.

It’s not just McBride.

I’m not sure the public realizes how deeply the 🇨🇦 + 🇺🇸 military integrated.

So if CAF are carrying out Trump’s orders on exchange - what happens if there’s a conflict between the two country’s interests?

one of the worst things about so many canadians being glued to cnn and msnow is that they import that approach to politics, such that you can’t ever criticize the libs or carney because they’re your team even when they absolutely need to be pushed to do better.

If we had a halfway decent opposition party in Canada, they’d endorse the words Carney used today, and then hammer him relentlessly on implementation or lack thereof.

Donald Trump has not assembled a “Board of Peace” for Gaza.

He has assembled a Board of Occupation.

The future of Gaza is not up to Trump, Blair or Netanyahu.

That is up to the Palestinian people.

Our politicians were able to get off TikTok -- so why not from Twitter?

The platform is letting its users create non-consensual sexual deepfakes of women and kids. That can't be the price of public participation in our digital down square.

Our government MUST act.

For @thetyee.ca, here’s how:

It would be a shame if the protesters began making their signs out of quarter-inch-thick plywood to stop rubber bullets, forming a tight shield wall to prevent police from singling out and mobbing individual protesters. .

Do Canadian MPs actually connect with the public on X?

I looked at RTs and views for every tweet* sent by Liberal MPs yesterday

Out of 46 tweets, 21 Liberal MPs racked up a combined 475 retweets

34% had zero RTs. Only 17% got more than 10 RTs

3 tweets accounted for over half of all engagement
