If DOJ is not investigating him, there is no ongoing federal investigation for state and local authorities to supposedly obstruct or interfere with by pursuing their own.
The DOJ is not investigating ICE agent Jonathan Ross for the fatal shooting of Renee Good, a top official said Sunday.

The top DOJ official confirmed that an investigation is underway into Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.
Justice Department says it has no plans to investigate ICE agent who killed Renee Good and confirms Walz, Frey probe
Frey and the governor’s office both said Sunday that the DOJ has not contacted them about the investigation.

WE KNOW GREENLAND IS STRATEGICALLY IMPORTANT AND THAT THERE ARE BENEFITS IN MAINTAINING A PRESENCE IN THE REGION. THE POINT IS THAT NONE OF THIS REQUIRES TAKING THE ISLAND FROM DENMARK.
The Arctic is warming around four times faster than the rest of the globe.

The changing landscape created a region ripe for opportunity factors that may play a role in President Trump’s sudden quest to obtain Greenland.
Melting ice may raise Greenland’s value. Trump’s fight may be just the start.
Trump has said he wants the territory because of its strategic location. Maps show how a melting Arctic is affecting geopolitics.

They're investigating the victim's wife, the victim's friends, the mayor and the governor too, but no, they're not even going to glance in the direction of the murderer.
BREAM: Is the FBI investigating the ICE agent who shot Renee Good?

BLANCHE: What happened has been reviewed by millions of Americans bc it was recorded. We investigate when it's appropriate. That is not the case here. We are not going to bow to pressure. So no, we are not investigating.

These are concentration camps. And these are the numbers they're comfortable sharing.
This is the sixth death in ICE custody in 18 days. This isn’t enforcement, it’s a system that cages people, outsources care, and shrugs when they die. Abolish ICE.

The fundamental problem with Jentleson's anaysis—which is indicative of the problem with Searchlight's approach in general—is that he's treating ICE as if it were a law enforcement agency under civilian control in a stable democratic polity.
This isn't a left-right ideological issue. But it blows me away that anyone who is actually anti-Trump would think running back Joe Biden/Merrick Garland 2.0 will work the second time. No political party can tolerate a very large, armed secret police force committed to murdering its voters.

Radical liberalism was the ideology of the abolitionists, and is in many ways is the bedrock on which the modern American liberal left is built more than anything else.
Liberalism is a radical idea of universal liberation, even if most of its modern-day adherents are squishy opportunists who are simply echoing what they perceive as the prevailing ideology of their friends
I have come to understand that Will Stancil was always radical, he just wasn’t (likely, still isn’t) radical about the precise thing(s) a lot of us on here wanted him to be radical about.

"What if the military sides with ICE and oppresses the People?"

I’m hearing people freak about a military deployment to Minneapolis but it doesn’t change much. It’s scarier but the same. We still outnumber them 100 to 1. They have more guns than us either way. They can shoot us either way. They’ll probably be easier to find and follow if they’re in a tank.

I feel like this pretty much sums up the rot at the core of American civic life as a whole.

“Hold the fuck up, cowboy. I signed up for the great power, not the great responsibility when I signed up for the church/media/government/think tank complex/etc.”
can u imagine being not only a baptized christian but an ordained priest and then, when NPR asks you about the Bishop of New Hampshire's comments last week, what you find to say is "I didn't sign up to be a martyr"??

Once again, it has been a constant and systematic failure of American media that Trump’s non-deals have been routinely described and celebrated as deals. Just as his promise of a 100 deals in 100 days came and went but was regularly heralded as if it were ever a possibility. Fantasy world politics.
Every single one of these has been a handshake and nothing else.

Trump running without a platform was the most honest his campaigns have ever been, because the truth is there is no Trump policy. No Trump agenda. No Trump doctrine. There's only his whims & his ability to enact those whims. The purest tyranny.
Yup. Same applies to domestic actors too.

it's a group that is both heavily marginalized and precarious as well as small numerically, and hatred of them is incredibly niche and cruel. it's just broadcasting your lack of qualms about abandoning your principles if it's convenient.
I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.

Really too perfect that Dokoupil's smug lecture at the end of this broadcast about trusting audiences to hear the news and decide for themselves was delivered *in the very act* of choosing to cover up a newsworthy legal threat made by the president about the interview the audience had just watched.
