Also, the last book I wrote before giving up writing was a dark fairytale, and my headcanon casting for a devil-like character named the Baron was Christoph Waltz. He promised one wish, in exchange for a future, unnamed favor. I loved that story. I felt like GDT brought that character to life 🥹💖

There's no problem Vance won't blame on immigrants, even if he has to invent the problem himself.

A few weeks ago he was insisting immigrants lived in cramped squalor and their (white) neighbors had a right to be upset about that.

Now they're so rich they're snatching up all the good houses? OK.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Hey, Bluesky, I need your help. In a time when so many people are using AI slop garbage to get attention, many of us artists are trying to survive w/o turning to AI 🤮
Could you like and share my post about this? It would mean so much 💖

halflucidjewelryGonna talk about this, because it keeps popping up on my feed. Another crown making brand posted about how their sales have dropped because of the tariffs in America. While I very much empathize with that and I'm also very much losing profit and business because of that, this creator used slide after slide of AI slop in their post. When people commented and asked them not to use generative AI, the excuses started rolling in. They need to use it for attention. They wouldn't have gotten any interactions if they hadn't used AI. They don't like AI, but they think it's just part of the business now. They understand how harmful it is to the environment, but they needed people to buy from them so it's justified, etc. This doesn't sit well with me. This brand mentioned having a team work for them, that they need to pay, and also that they can't afford an artist to make their social media posts. I don't know if a $20/month Canva subscription with licensed work available for use was too much?I'm not trying to be shady, I'm being very blunt and open. You don't need generative AI. You'll never need it.Using a tool of oppression, a tool of destruction, a tool of theft of the arts, will never be worth the attention you get on a viral post.If you need a crown from an artist who doesn't have a team working for them, and still somehow manages to never need to use generative AI, hi. It's me. I don't and won't use that stuff 🤮🤮🤮🤮 If I need a graphic, I'll draw you an ugly version before using generative AI.Photos on my page are almost exclusively my own, shot on my own camera, using real models and real backdrops and real products. Is it perfect? No. Is it real? Always.Anyway, let's see if a small business post can go viral without using generative AI 🤮 Share this if you'd like to prove that it can happen.View all comments

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous

Ngl, the last week has been a crazy time to be on the internet. One of my besties of over a decade was pulled into a massive internet scandal without her knowledge, and I had to see hundreds of strangers talking about her and how she wasn't real, lol. Wild.

This is why Gavin Newsom is a non-starter for me.

Sure, he's "a fighter" who's landed a few good punches on Trump, but that's not the same thing as a leader.

A real leader doesn't fight back against an authoritarian takeover by using the most vulnerable as his shield.
I keep seeing people say, oh, trans people must take a hit for the greater good and, first of all, no, you don't get to discard someone else's rights and second, we know from past experience that marginalized communities like theirs are merely the first to be targeted. They'll come for you next.

Food insecurity is ALWAYS a political choice. Famine is ALWAYS manmade. People go hungry because of other people’s decisions. We have more than enough food for everyone, and enormous amounts of it are wasted—literally thrown in the garbage—on purpose.

Guys please if you order Doordash, please tip your driver. Like a server, they don't earn minimum wage in most places. They're getting paid $2 to use their own car, spend their own gas money, and drive in whatever weather conditions to bring you that McDonalds. For $2. Please tip them at least $3 🫠

Once again, one reason Trump says & does whatever he wants is bc every societal institution, including the media, has totally normalized & internalized the idea that the laws, the Constitution, & the international treaties we have signed & ratified simply don’t apply to this one guy. It’s maddening.
No mention at all of the fact that Trump doesn't have the legal authority to do this, that plans haven't even been reviewed (because the office is closed for the government shutdown), that the size and cost estimates keep changing, etc., etc.

The shitbombing AI is eliminationist rhetoric, no pun intended. Associating your enemies with filth and disease is a time-honored rhetorical strategy. It can be a prelude to violence.
Using an AI-generated video of himself, Donald Trump sought “to mock and smear millions of Americans, literally depicting them covered in excrement, precisely so that none of his own supporters would want to join them,” @anneapplebaum.bsky.social argues: https://theatln.tc/wY7pEvxZ

See the issue is that Trump ran on releasing on the Epstein files, and Bondi said she had them sitting on her desk ready to go, and then Elon Musk tweeted that Trump was in them and they were suddenly deemed a hoax and Ghislaine was moved to a spa prison, so you can understand the fresh intrigue
Mike Johnson: "Suddenly now, they've somehow convinced themselves that the Epstein files will be damaging to President Trump and Republicans in some way that they've imagined, and so they feign outrage."

Sleep is a biological necessity, and sleep deprivation has real physical, psychological, and social consequences that need to be taken seriously. The way our society treats it as slothful to sleep according to natural rhythms (including midday naps and variant chronotypes like night owls) is evil.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
