Celiac disease rather famously existed in the 1920's, when an all-banana diet was prescribed as a treatment. (The treatment worked because if you're eating nothing but bananas you're not eating gluten.)
Remember the 1920s when nobody was left-handed

The fact that it was absolutely ready and the standard for comment had been met several times over?
The Bari Weiss hysteria continues. Exactly what in "this piece isn't ready" and "try harder to get comment from the administration" constitutes the death of American journalism? www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

And what she got wrong

About to view Avatar 3 without having seen the second movie. But seeing how well my friends were able to recall the second movie’s plot (they couldn’t) I should be in relatively good shape to check this one out. Wish me luck on Pandora!

With a dozen crazy events like this now happening every day
I almost admire the discipline it takes for corp news & white liberals to still, even as we cross 1.5C warming,
pretend we’re not in a real time global emergency.

From this point on, I'm forced to assume that every elected politician who does not immediately call for Trump's impeachment is in the Epstein files. Sorry. Just cutting the Gordian knot here, as one does during societal collapse.

Also we all know that whatever this ends up being, it’s gonna be weirdly fascist eugenics-y. Like it’s gonna be a bunch extremely conventionally attractive athletic mostly white kids a la the Nazi Olympics to underscore of “strong” white people are.
This is legit the plot to the Long Walk. Glad we’re fucking making the god damn Hunger Games, Jesus fucking Christ. We gonna do a god damn lottery to pick the special boy and girl form each district, I mean state?

Hi Senator, excuse me for jumping in, but... while I agree with you that this is really damaging, I couldn't help but notice YOU VOTED FOR THE FREAKING BILL THAT GAVE TRUMP THIS POWER (which some of us warned you not to do).

People are misunderstanding the core problem when they say “he shouldn’t get $600 million for being bad at his job”.

Even if he was GOOD at his job, he shouldn’t be getting $600 million. NO ONE should.

Justifying it as a performance metric is how it gets normalized.

Eat the rich.

I fucking loathe these smug ass art-hating self-congratulating ghouls & the system that allows them to fail upwards into unfathomable wealth on the backs of 1000s of overworked creative people whose livelihoods get passed around like trading cards every time these dillwads have a stonks circle-jerk.

You do not get to stand on California soil, praise a man who called for the killing of protesters here during Vietnam, and then ever, ever, ask for my vote. Not ever.
The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

At SNL I worked with artists who made the funniest, stupidest graphics in no time flat. Some of my biggest jokes would have been impossible without these geniuses building an insane image or finding the perfect real-life photo of a politician. Sucks that their work is being pushed aside for slop.
SNL used AI art tonight, multiple times.

Booooooo.

On the eve of the Sandy Hook anniversary, there has been another campus shooting. This time at Brown University.

To the people in power: this is your legacy.

Thirteen years. Thirteen years of dead children, traumatized students, shattered families — while you stall, deflect, and do nothing.
