Trump spent his first year in office doing endless PR events for economic policies people hate (tariffs, corporate handouts, foreign bailouts), and people are wondering why his economy numbers are bad. Should have learned under Biden that conditions are not the only thing people pay attention to!
not breaking new ground here but still worth emphasizing the key difference between Trump 1 and Trump 2 that during his 1st term Trump produced the best PR about government economic policy on record and during his 2nd term produced the worst PR on record
If I was running the economy I simply wouldn't barrage voters with a bunch of stories about my bad economic policies

A subcommittee of Iowa lawmakers has recommended passage of a bill that would once again allow judges and prosecutors to charge defendants court fees in dismissed cases. The practice was ended by a state Supreme Court ruling last month.
In Iowa, Prosecutors Want to Bring Back Court Fees as Bargaining Chips
The state’s high court recently ended the practice of making defendants pay fees for charges that get dismissed. Prosecutors are backing legislation to undo the court’s ruling so they can keep using fees as leverage for plea deals.

Honored to be endorsed by the @HoustonChron for Congressional District 9 in Texas- I will fight to level the playing field for the working people in our district!

YES. A turn to state constitutions for substantive protections from federal authoritarianism is a necessary development under the present circumstances.

I've long seen federalism as on balance bad for rights—Jim Crow, after all, lasted nearly a century. But today, its potential can't be denied.
When state courts interpret their own constitutions to offer broader rights, the federal judiciary can't overturn them. A crucial safeguard against authoritarianism.
