The way the press is treating chatbots, like they have agency and they “know” things all of a sudden, crossed the line recently from dumb and obsequious to something else entirely. Treating them as alive and making conscious decisions is an almost religious belief. It won’t age well.

I'd rather see a notification that they've suspended their AI program until they can safely operate without breaking multiple laws, can operate fully with renewable energy and don't destroy the environment in the process.

I would love to know: What is the absolute safest modern vehicle? Not the fanciest or the best tech features. Maybe even the LEAST tech features.
I hate that I can't buy a modern car and just assume it contains the best of all our safety knowledge.

Safety systems should work WITH people's natural impulses especially in context when they are potentially panicking and overwhelmed.
Nobody should have to be looking for the backup lever to escape a vehicle.

The Luddites are one of the more well-rememebered, but ultimately just one, of many labor movements that helped create our modern unions. It was a hard fought battle. We owe these people so much.

I used the exact same wording recently, "inmates get treated better". My last visit to the emergency room, by ambulance, resulted in me being sent home with no answers, just fear and pain and sobbing.
