obviously not the major driver of his health concerns but it is very funny to read A Christmas Carol as an adult and realize that when tiny tim first says "God bless us, every one!" he's a severely malnourished child and they've given him a cup of hot gin

Hard to pick a favorite part of Wake Up Dead Man. I can't wait to rewatch just to pick out those Light of God moments. I think what sticks with me is how lovely the movie is in presenting faith and the beauty and strength that comes from grace while also showing the harm religion is capable of

But I don’t mean any of this in a doomer way: everything that’s happened in 2025 is essentially forcing a conversation about what happens in the absence not just of civic values but really any values to speak of, and how untenable it’s become to have most Americans living their life that way

The only truly irreversible thing a trans child is likely to do is take their own life. "What if they do something irreversible?" actually means "theyre not allowed to make a decision!"
You cant undo or reverse any decision you make, you can simply change your mind later and handle the consequences
