I write & publish literary fiction for hackers, geeks, and fans of Borges, Lem & Nabokov. I’ve written 4 novel(la)s; another novel in the works. Cyberpunk/biopunk technopothestic biodigital thrillers, some of them metafictional. All concern hacking of both silicon- & carbon-based systems. 💙📚 🪐📚

Why is the head of the world’s preeminent medical science research institute relying on an anonymous, anti-vax, software engineer known only as “Ben” for his COVID epidemiology?

The answer does not bode well for the future of science based medicine.

ok: 2025 "AI" is built and funded by fascists for fascist purposes, and that should be the first thing anyone talks about when mentioning it in any regard.

I made a mistake a couple of days ago & re-watched that video from a decade or more ago of a bunch of very talented young people (teens & pre-teens) performing 46 & 2 by Tool. You know the one I mean — that video that's been watched 31 million times. What an idiot am I! Ear-wormed all to hell.

My advice to Charles Murray is that he eat shit and die, expeditiously. In that way he can get rid of his own discomfort and do the rest of us a favor.
watching people like Charles Murray be (correctly!) horrified by the rise of people like Nick Fuentes is sort of bleakly funny. uh oh! maybe those hysterical libs had a point Chuck! maybe there was something there to worry about!

Larry Ellison Met With Trump To Discuss Which CNN Reporters They Plan To Fire
Trump’s right wing billionaire friend Larry Ellison (and his nepobaby son, David) recently acquired CBS and likely co-ownership of TikTok. Like Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, the goal isn’t really subtle: rich, thin-skinned right wingers want to own the entirety of U.S. new and old media, then convert it into a giant propaganda and lazy infotainment bullhorn that blows smoke up their asses…

3 infant #pertussis deaths this year in Kentucky. "Of the three infant deaths reported over the past 12 months, all three were not vaccinated, nor were their mothers."

We first tested maternal vaccination for whooping cough over 80 years ago. It's safe & effective & might have saved these babies.

And he was nowhere near the drafting of that Ukraine 'peace plan,' which was instead devised by the president's real-estate buddy and his son-in-law.

This is something @ndrew.bsky.social has been saying for years… are we really going to subject our children to targeted harassment and physical inspections by agents of the state just because of a hypothetical scenario that would seem to be more like obvious cheating than sincere inclusiveness.
people get wrongfooted by terfs going “what if a man can just say he’s a woman and win the Olympics” but they will be a lot less sympathetic when that cashes out with “and that’s why the drunkest MAGA grandpas at the track meet are accusing your tomboy daughter of being a secret male”
