Trump: “I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in heaven. I think I’m not maybe heaven bound.

“I’m not sure I’ll make heaven, but I’ve made life a lot better for a lot of people.”

He’s been ruminating on his mortality a lot recently. Never used to. Knows something we don’t maybe.

Red state government declaring open war on blue city governments in Florida.

This is the MAGA model: using every tool of the state to punish political opponents, without even a pretense that you are governing "for everyone."

New, from me:
Trump's 3 step plan to create a military omniforce
1. Purge - those deemed disloyal
2. Merge - different parts of law enforcement/military
3. Surge - impose the omniforce on Dem cities; instigate unrest; assert dominance; silence dissent

Watch any documentary on the forming of the Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS) and you will see that Himmler became the leader of all police nationwide, then created a SS fighting force and special death squads to deal with “undesirables and other enemies of the state”. You’ll see it’s eerily similar.

“The Trump administration’s calculation could be that doing regime change on the cheap will help them avoid the penalties of the ‘Pottery Barn rule,’” said Peter Feaver, a former national security hand in the George W. Bush administration."

If Feaver is right, and he may well be ... oh boy.

The federal food program helping more than 1 in 4 young children access fresh produce, milk, and formula will run out of funding next week.

Over 5 million children could lose food assistance — all thanks to the Trump-Republican shutdown.

The cruelty is endless.

Good for them: it is a violation of the Hatch Act that limits the use of public assets for partisan messaging. Orgeon has its own version of that law, and covers those who run the airport. Other airport administrators should look to see if they are in the same position.

"Send them back where they came from" not good enough when they have embarrassed the administration. They must be deported to a place where he might be tortured.

So Kilmer Abrego-Garcia will not challenge a deportation to Costa Rica, who has agreed to for him residency, but DHS won’t agree to send him there because it’s not cruel enough.

www.nytimes.com/2025/10/10/u...
For weeks, Mr. Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who is married to a U.S. citizen, has made clear that he would not challenge his deportation if he were sent to Costa Rica, which has promised him legal residency and guaranteed that he would not be sent back to El Salvador.

But the Trump administration has refused to deport him to Costa Rica, and in an earlier hearing this week, Judge Xinis pressed the administration to consider the option or clarify why it was unacceptable.

An incredibly important piece on how the rising global, fascist movement is connected to Russia and how this all ties back to the Kremlin's designs on #ukraine. It's no exaggeration to say that Ukraine is fighting for all our freedom.

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages
Business Insider headline reads: UPS is telling customers that their packages coming to the US are marked for destruction.

This week, MAGA figures claimed Kristi Noem "stared down" violent antifa protesters in Portland. Turns out they were talking mostly about a guy in a chicken suit.

This episode opens a window into how MAGA propaganda works and MSM failure to handle it. 1/

The RIFs that began Friday will reportedly cut 65% of CISA’s 2,540 employees, one of the dumbest and most dangerous moves imaginable. CISA defends the nation’s cyber and critical infrastructure. Destroying it now only makes sense if you’re afraid of election integrity.

What works isn't "what is poll-tested as 'popular' but rather making popular what needs to be said."

Like Chris Van Hollen going to El Salvador, for instance.

Instead, "Democrats often help amplify the opposition’s storyline."
Indeed, Democrats often help amplify the opposition’s storyline. Back in the day, for example, they did this by pledging to “end welfare as we know it,” thus crediting a slash-the-government approach associated with the right and demonizing fellow Democrats who had the audacity to support people in need. And, more recently, they tried to out-tough Republicans in ads that repeated “the border” over and again while hammering home the notion of immigrants as villains. Candidates ought to run against their opposition, not the people the opposition scapegoats and reviles.

Democrats are especially likely to get caught off-guard when Republicans repeat the unflattering stories Democrats also tell about themselves. From WelcomeFest to Third Way to Searchlight, Democrats who claim to be concerned that voters reject their party for being too “woke” keep publicizing these accusations, seemingly to ensure voters hear them. Repeating Republican attacks against the party they purport to want to help makes the charges seem more credible
