Recent books include CRITICAL HITS (with Carmen Maria Machado), HARD GIRLS, BUZZ KILL, SUBDIVISION, LET ME THINK. Lits in English prof at a regime collaborator institution. EPOCH editor.
Also related to Rikki Ducornet, I am always jealous of writers who happen to cool sexy casual portraits of themselves from their youth, all primed up for the biography cover. Instead all of my young writer shots are like “mom got me neoprene waders for christmas”

Oh god, I had no idea. "Dog Heaven" is one of my favorite short stories of all time. Even after reading it dozens of time, the ending still gives me goosebumps.

Also one of my fav opening sentences ever: "Every so often that dead dog dreams me up again." What a huge loss.
i didn't see more than like 2 or 3 stephanie vaughn memorial posts yesterday which i take as a sign that more of you need to put down whatever book you're reading and pick up a copy of Sweet Talk.

a book so good she only had to write the one
Just learned that my former professor, friend, and mentor Stephanie Vaughn, has died. For those unaware, Stephanie's book SWEET TALK is one of the greatest American story collections, up there with the likes of JESUS' SON. This is the justly famous intro of her story "Dog Heaven"

Stephanie was one of those people who are just so intensely themselves. Her aura was off the charts powerful, and she was hilarious. I remember, in the lead-up to the publication of my first novel in 2016, she said (in her cranky flat Ohio voice), "Ah yes, pre-publication, the storm before the calm"

I use this utility to remove so much of the bloat that comes stuffed in W11 PCs. You can click a couple buttons, check the descriptions of every change before you implement it, and have an improved experience. There are a lot of good videos going over it if you need.

Real question, aside from the obvious hilarity of the man never having used a tool before: why is he trying to nail an untreated garden stake to an obviously feature-complete gate? What’s the endgame here
