Ireland would happily support an EU wide approach.

Boycotting American brands.. Or blockading US assets across Europe, including shipping, factories, military bases?

There is more than one way to punish the United States of Trump.

(Be creative people!)
It's effectively impossible to boycott US companies because they own so many British brands. You'd have to stop buying Cadburys, Walkers Crisps, HP sauce.... or shopping at Gails or Waterstones etc etc...

What Europe could do is threaten to boycott the World Cup. It won't. But that might actually work. Trump wants his big show.

Europeans spend the last days pretending that their deployment to Greenland was not against the US.

Trump, as always, is sensing a weakness and will force them to come clean. I understand the diplomatic hesitation, but time for Europeans to make clear, unequivocal stance.

So before you reflexively say, “He can’t do that,” ask yourself how often that assumption has failed us over the last 12 months. If it’s in his head, there will be an army of enablers ready to turn it into reality, bending logic to defend the indefensible. That’s the pattern.

A new @ecfr.eu survey has found that the proportion of Europeans who view the US as an ally or an adversary are approaching the same levels as how they feel about China.
Only 16% of Europeans still see the US as an ally, new survey finds
An ECFR survey published today finds a dramatic shift in how Europeans view America. More now see the US as a rival or enemy than as a friend. Conversely, Russians no longer see the US as an enemy.

Wow, it seems the Northern Atlantic Ocean is bigly important for US and European security (Greenland!).
Here’s an unorthodox idea: Why don’t we set up a Northern Atlantic Treaty Organization binding together the democracies of the western hemisphere?
Sounds crazy, I know.
