I don’t know what true happiness is, but a quiet house (with the love of my life sleeping contentedly in the bedroom) with an active wood stove (and a full wood pile next to it) and my favourite cup of tea at 6 in the morning definitely feels like it.

I believe that it most benefits us when awards are given to something that will produce the most benefit, materially or culturally, after. Therefore, I wish Sinners (which was great) wins all the Oscars.

You cannot have heart eyes for the Obama years and not see Mike Brown, Tamir Rice, Freddie Gray, Sandra Bland, etc as being a systemic problem. I don't want a return to "less abuse" just like you wouldn't be ok with your spouse agreeing to beating your ass fewer times a month. The whole thing stinks
