Old hippie, bewildered socialist, math, old music, grows apples. A harmless drudge.
It's really kind of blatant with Hegseth, isn't it?
I’m beginning to suspect all of the men in the Trump administration are impotent.

I had to read this slowly, which is appropriate to the message. This Pope guy is worth paying attention to.
The Pope has some Criterion Collection on his shelf
Some inspiring words on cinema in the streaming era from the Pope.

Yes, THAT Pope.

I have wondered what it is exactly about this Buttigieg guy for some time, and this really clarifies it for me.
Buttigieg's second home costs more than my (financially secure) parents' only home, but he claims a "real America" persona because he's in the Midwest, and a Democrat persona because he's gay. How exactly does he think he's NOT playing identity politics?

Reposting because of the ALT-text. I don't think you have to read the whole thread.
NEW: In his first interview since his arrest for protesting outside the Chicago-area ICE facility, @revdrmichaelwoolf.bsky.social tells me he has "bruises all over my body."

Even so, he said, “the cruelty that goes on that facility … must be 100 times worse." religionnews.com/2025/11/15/a...

The ALT-text doesn't tell you that Pastor Woolf is lying face-down on pavement, held down by ICE or CBP agents, appearing very ministerial with clerical collar and some sort of necklace. Lake Street Church appears to be non-denominational, Pastor Woolf is ordained American Baptist with 1/2
Incredibly smart PR tactic from ICE to continue assaulting very handsome priests
Oh wow @reuters.com got the photo here:

Important to acknowledge that this is a dangerous moment. We have a handful of heroes and could-be-heroes on the ground, sure could use a lot more. This is more than one cornered rat.
this is kinda my biggest current concern. everyone's hands are dirty now, which i think is intentional to trigger their self-preservation instincts, and this coverup already has a body count and i can't believe that's where we are
This is a very dangerous moment for the country and the world. A cornered rat will do anything to escape.

If we start a land war with Venezuela, we're gonna need to pull troops out of DC. That's going to leave all the metro stations vulnerable to Antifa, so maybe just release the files.

Give a man a fish and someone with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about people getting free handouts. Teach a man to fish? Yeah, that person with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about that too.

Just another little bit of good news. I think that makes at least two today. Upswing.
It looks like Katie Wilson is being elected Mayor of Seattle. She is a DSA member with a progressive agenda for Seattle that is organized, verbalized and inspiring.

Good people are getting elected to be of service in ways our country needs. Voting matters.

McGovern is an old-timer D-MA Congressperson whose district runs from Worcester to a swathe of Western Mass that includes Northampton, Amherst, and Athol. He writes down his offhand banter before he speaks it. I'm pretty sure these are his own words, though. Most of our MA Congresspeople are good.
McGovern: Seriously, we were worried. We actually started handing out missing person posters. Nobody has seen you for eight weeks. But, hey, I'm glad that you are ok. I'm glad you survived your nice, two-month paid vacation

I am plenty enraged by this abject surrender, but I am also baffled. How did these experienced old national Democrats think they could sell this as a win? Did they think the votes on Tuesday were a mandate for their kind of Democrat? Seems stupid.
Senate Dems are out here posting noise like "omg the Senate GOP just voted against healthcare subsidies and are trying to sneak a bunch of terrible shit into the funding bill" — and people are flooding their mentions with "bitch, please, GTFOH"

Never seen such a dramatic swing in political momentum

He's already dead, and let's allow Joyce Carol Oates to rub it in, certainly, but also a word of appreciation for whoever avidreader1000 is for the additional dead-on observation. Elon is really a fascinating study in some special kind of brokenness.

OK, one big sigh of relief: SCOTUS is not planning to undo marriage equality this year.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court denied an attempt to challenge Obergefell v. Hodges, the case affirming marriage equality nationwide.

Our freedom to marry remains the law of the land.

Reposting Hakeem Jeffries' announcement with ALT-text. I think we should be talking more about how the House will now have to reconvene, which means swearing in Rep. Grijalva, which means a House vote to release the Epstein files. In addition to all the rest of the intrigue.
Please have your media team learn to use ALT-text.

Final round for the first annual #orecup contest. Don't believe the link in the quoted post, which goes to a semifinal round: the final vote is at www.mineralcup.org/vote-results....
I am not going to say who I voted for, because my endorsements would have been the kiss of death in previous rounds.

As we Democrats look for our next Presidential nominee we need to measure against the standard of FDR. With Lincoln in the background.

Recommend watching this.
Democrats didn’t cave. They boxed republicans in and made them own the shutdown. Watch.
