This is the Republican senator up for reelection in 2026. He wears the term Dr. as a shield for how stupid he is.
"Real Kansans, real voters, real fed-up" is a statewide slogan aimed exactly at him.

If you discuss politics with anybody, frame the Kim Davis request appropriately: she asked SCOTUS to allow any elected rep to ignore the law where it clashed with their religion. Whether they are Christian or not.

The Kim Davis case was the dumbest legal ask and every time press framed it as anything except for fucking stupid on its face, they helped lend credence to the idea the Constitution doesn't mean what it literally fucking says.

Feels like saying "because I dont collaborate with Nazis" would be a pretty easy and satisfying answer to such a question.
Shaheen: "When I talk to my constituents in New Hampshire, you know what they say to me? They say, 'Why can't you all just work together to address the problems that are facing this country?'"

Roger Marshall is up for reelection in Kansas. He's one of the worst but also the less-popular of our two R senators. I just don't know if the dems have the guts to run an actual leftist against him instead of a Claire McCaskill type

Peters is retiring, too. Some Michigan folks already ramping up their campaigns (including Mallory McMorrow).

These are the Dem Senators up for reelection next year (minus the two who are retiring). Per LRS none of these are the ones who defected, but I agree... each one should be working their ass off to remove Schumer

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.
Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.

so currently defectors are:
Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)

CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)

Regular reminder that Axios stories saying Dems are about to cave are likely sourced from GOP staffers trying to make it happen.
Doesn't mean it definitely won't happen. But it's like those NYT stories that Harvard is considering caving (they haven't). The anonymous source was trying to manifest it.

What happens first: a completely innocent player is murdered due to the proliferation of sports gambling or a completely guilty player is murdered?
Breaking news per Jeff Passan: “Cleveland Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz have been indicted by prosecutors in Brooklyn on a host of charges related to a scheme to rig bets on pitches thrown in MLB games. Ortiz was arrested in Boston earlier today. Clase is not currently in custody”

From a purely legal perspective, I would have no faith in a justice system that would not see this as designed culpability.

The suicidal empathy ethos is pretty neatly summed up by "person who wants everything warns there's not enough for everyone else"
