What are you mapping your DUMPSTER FIRE key to on your keyboard?

(n.b. not actually a keycap, though maybe next time!)
We are doing 25% off in the shop this week, for all your stocking stuffer and fidget toy and geeky rainbow needs!

And because they might be our most popular item of 2025 (can't guess why) I made A LOT of clicky dumpster fires!

I've seen ham served as a side at Thanksgiving, and despite my time in the South, never mac and cheese. That said, I'd drop ham - to me it's a Christmas main.
with charity and goodwill, i must here part ways with rolls.

Well, shit. Check your bike batteries, all, because the local manufacturer won't.
The importer, Rad Power Bikes Inc., of Seattle, Washington has refused to agree to an acceptable recall. Given its financial situation, Rad Power Bikes has indicated to CPSC that it is unable to offer replacement batteries or refunds to all consumers.

Next year they'll do "Seahawks in Seattle", with Tom Hanks playing the fictional improbably-wise head coach
is there going to be one of these for every NFL team that at least has the chance to play in snow at home

Insane but true fact: making US roads as safe as Canadian, Australian, or European roads would save more lives than eliminating murder from the US.

It's been twenty years since the Seattle Weekly newsroom was gutted and I still miss them (as a reader).
I love stuff like @flaminghydra.com but I gotta be honest with you all: as an old alt-weekly alum I think the culture/essay type stuff is so much better and lands so much harder when it’s grounded in a geographic community

when it’s FOR a place that it loves

I miss the alts so bad

The fall of the samurai can be partially blamed on Abraham Lincoln. Surplus rifles & handguns left over after the US Civil War ended up in the hands of the pro-Imperial forces in the Boshin War.

Taking this one step further: by restoring the Japanese Empire, Lincoln is responsible for Pearl Harbor.

This is the the thread you had no idea you needed tonight but YOU ABSOLUTELY DO
I have been doing entirely too much earnest posting about deep things recently, I need to do a proper thread about hippo testicles or something just to keep myself sane.

Oh by the way hippos have migratory testicles.

📣What do we want?

🗣️The political will for evidence-based policies that would reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by diverting money away from fossil fuels, like industrial carbon pricing, climate-aligned finance, and methane regulations!

📣When do we want it?

Medieval Times attracts busloads of high school bands with teenage low-brass lines who think they're being hilariously original every time they summon the wait staff by shouting "SERVING WENCH"
Hard times create hard men.
Hard men create soft times.
Soft times create soft men.
Soft men create Medieval Times.
Medieval Times create Medieval Men.
Medieval Men create Early Modern times.
Early Modern times create conditions for industrial war.
I forget where I'm going with this.
