Imagine you saw a man throw his toddler to an attacking lion to save himself. How would you feel about that man?

That’s how I feel about elected Democrats.

Don't print lies in the newspaper
"Never spread the lie in the headline" should be a hard rule of 21st century journalism.

Research shows that repeating lies helps to spread them, and people read headlines more than they read stories.
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

I remember Dawning Realization Month for the NFT people too. Think this is going to take much longer because of how wrapped up the whole economy is in this, but it really feels like it's happening.
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

For example, one thing that Sen Schiff has done to stand up to attacks on his people is voting to confirm several Trump judges and members of his administration, as recently as an AL district judge on 10/24/25.

“But amanda how is that standing up to attacks on his people” he does it while frowning
When it comes to standing up to attacks on our people and our democracy, my advice is this:

Don't try to do everything. Find one thing you can do to mitigate the harms. If everyone does that, we'll get through this.

So many people that I hold such closely are in ever deepening peril. I’m not okay.

At the Taco Bell drive through, they had a virtual AI assistant try to take my order. After it got it wrong several times, an actual human employee came to my assistance. Apparently you can just ask for assistance from an employee right off the bat. Just a tip.

The President is increasingly transforming the American government into a white nationalist ethnostate, and despite how flamingly obvious it is, the Average American is in a state of deep denial, which only heightens the danger for everyone.

How’re the leftovers? Feeling full?
The US Government is posting barely-veiled racism on official government accounts.

The 11 stars & the font choice are references to the Confederacy & to Nazi Germany.

The Trump administration is posting the kind of extremist hate you might find in a KKK group chat.

Deplorable.
Looks like it’s time to re-up this thread on the fascist genealogy of the seemingly pablum term “Americanism.”

Capitalism is by nature an extractive process; see also, slavery, racism, neoliberalism. Those subhuman vultures who perch upon its apex revolt at the notion of doing real, substantial labor themselves. They are pathologically and cognitively incapable.
The numbers in here are hilarious.

Do you use AI on the job?
Execs: 87%
Managers: 57%
Workers: 27%

Planned investment by 2030: $5T
"Necessary" annual revenue to justify that spend: $650B
Current annual revenue: $50B
Three years into the generative-AI wave, demand for the technology seems surprisingly flimsy

There was a year around 2008 and 2009 where I believed that better things were possible for this country. But every year since then, I have had to continually downgrade my expectations for my fellow countryman. That’s a very lonely feeling.

I may be a miserable son of a bitch, but I’m still fastidiously kind to service workers. So at least I’ve got something resembling a soul left.

rich dudes got freakier after butlers fell out of fashion, like say what you will about having domestic servants but clearly it was some sort of moderating force on old rich dudes having a fancy man follow you around saying shit like "oh dear sir, that wouldn't be very becoming"

Caring for someone with dementia is so hard because their emotional intelligence crashes. They say and do hurtful things, and it’s in a way they have no control over. This is the second time I’ve had to help care for a relative like this. I’m good at it, but it comes at a personal cost.

Don’t forget that 99 Senators voted for the war criminal Marco Rubio, making them morally and I would argue legally complicit in whatever crimes our State Department is committing. Justice won’t be done until every last one of them is in a cell.

Americans are generally unbothered by the fact that Thomas Jefferson started raping his enslaved sister-in-law when she was 14, I don’t think there are very many moral people here.

Tens of millions of humans are sacrificing their agency to generative AI, I think that democracy might not necessarily be the best thing for humanity. Maybe we do crave authoritarianism?
