agree with this (hah) but also think a particular mistake the left made for a long time online, and still makes to an extent, is failing to understand that the person whose mind you may actually change is the one reading the argument you're having, not the one you're arguing with

I just found out last night that the $50k enrollment bonus only pays out after 5 years of service, and reader, the laugh I let out when I read that woke the dog from across the house. These absolute fucking grapes aren't seeing a dime of that money. No way they can ride out 5 years of this job.

I grew up around a lot of violence. It will fuck you up. You don't need to subject yourself to endless videos of it. It's awful out there. Take care of yourself first.

Number one was the FUCKING SEMI-COLON.

So, I'm a poll worker in PA and holy shit turnout was nuts. My district has a fair number of older residents (so a lot of vote by mail) and even then: we were never slow today.
Also, the amount of open racism (and really weird voting conspiracies) I had to hear today was frankly, nauseating.

When I was in college, I did... I think it was called BC Caring (it's been a long time). I have never in my life seen a shittier, more horridly run charity than Catholic Charities. I would honestly rather set my money on fire than give to anything like it.
