I’ll say it again: if you’re willing to put someone else’s freedom on the chopping block, you’re part of the problem. Trans rights - everyone’s rights - to exist and seek their own happiness are non-negotiable. We shouldn’t let our elected representatives believe otherwise.
I support Trans rights as much as anyone but it's an electoral loser. It helps Republicans who are ok with shooting trans.

About 700 Somalis are covered by TPS. To end that status and deny these community members the basic protection they’ve been promised is—like so much of what Trump does—just cruel. It throws people and families into chaos, and is a direct attack on our community.

Trump says he’s terminating legal protections for Somali migrants in Minnesota
Minnesota has the nation’s largest Somali community. Many fled the long civil war in their east African country and were drawn to the state’s welcoming social programs.

You guys interested in more stuff I pulled from Ron Moore’s ‘90s AOL chats with DS9 fans?

This was in reaction to a Season 5 ep retconning Dr. Bashir’s history. OH NO! The sacred CANON was violated!

Ron has the correct perspective (and more patience than I would have.)

In the memo, “Nvidia also responds to claims that the ‘current situation is analogous to historical accounting frauds (Enron, WorldCom, Lucent) that featured vendor financing and SPVs [special purpose vehicles.)’”

Air travel has become cattle cars with wings these days, so is it any surprise people dress for comfort rather than style? If you are going to be stuck in an airport for hours and then shoved into a tiny seat in a pressurized tube at 500 mph there's no sense in wearing uncomfortable clothing.

Today he made the video available through the clerk's office at no cost to the public. Here's the first.

Correct.

You can press an economic agenda that lifts everyone up without tearing some people down. It's not hard -- we just saw a good example of it.

And yeah, this is NYC. But J.B. Pritzker and Andy Beshear have shown it works in other places too.

IF this DOJ were smart, they'd let the Comey case go. It's a dog case anyway, and then the judge won't have to issue another opinion w/ findings about all the misconduct in the grand jury investigation.

That's if they were smart. So of course they will do the opposite - appeal and attack the judge.

The thing about Carville's piece is that it's a perfect example of the way centrists can't write literally anything without getting in a few jabs at the left/minorities. It's entirely possible to run on "economic rage," sure. There's no need to go, "And remember what some people on Tumblr said??"

So, one reason to slow-walk EVERYTHING in the Trump era is that you need to give the procedural and paperwork fuck-ups time to emerge. You don’t grant UC. You don’t yield back post-cloture time. You don’t concede that paperwork is properly filed, or that signatures or appointments are validly made.

I want Democrats to pledge they will prosecute everyone involved in this. No more "turning the page," no more "looking forward not backward." Everyone from Trump and Miller on down to the ICE agent in the field should face the inside of a prison cell.
A Wash Post review found instances of parents arrested near campuses in at least 10 states so far this year. Actions near campuses—which include shooting a man, releasing tear gas and engaging in a car chase—have prompted lockdowns. @justinemcdaniel.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/education/20...
In cities targeted by ICE, empty desks and school disruptions follow
One in 5 students in Charlotte missed school after a recent ICE crackdown began. It’s the latest city where schools felt the impact of Trump’s deportation effort.

Wow I keep hearing this, sooo misleading. Both officers & enlisted members are bound by federal law (UCMJ, art. 90) making it a crime to disobey a LAWFUL order. BUT if either obeys an order they KNOW/should know is UNLAWFUL, they can be prosecuted for the unlawful act. Oaths have 0 bearing on this.
The answer is "no," but her response is not completely wrong. McClain is deliberately threading a needle of military lingo to confuse viewers.

Oaths of ENLISTMENT and oaths taken by OFFICERS are DIFFERENT. Anyone commenting on this needs to read Hertling's piece: www.thebulwark.com/p/what-ameri...
BLITZER: I want to be precise. Should members of the US military obey clearly illegal orders?

McCLAIN: You're asking an enlisted person for their opinion on what they think is legal. That's a pretty slippery slope. Follow your commander in chief. That's the oath that you took

(Not a no!)
