I can't wait to recreate the meme in reverse. every naval engagement from 2043 onwards gonna be like The USS Sword Of The God-Emperor vs. fifteen identical copies of the PLAN '我们昨天建造了它' supplied by a ship that does nothing but make hot pot for the other ships
President Trump will announce on Monday a new type of large warship he is calling “battleships,” marking a step toward achieving the president’s vision for a new “Golden Fleet.”
Trump To Announce Navy Will Buy New ‘Battleship’
The new warship will be the latest in what the White House envisions as a “Golden Fleet.”

We occupy a very specific niche when it comes to the public discussion of history, and that niche is serious answers to the question of how bamboozled Hitler would have been by big chungus memes.

there's a certain personality that's very debilitating in modern life. 100 years ago, if you wanted to buy something, you'd go to five local shops and decide. now with the internet, you need to spend 1,000 hours so you can own the best version in the world like you're some venetian patrician

Speaking of Pokemon things, every so often I remember I have this half-finished model of a mecha-Salamence sitting on my hard drive. Sometimes I chip away at it. If I ever finish it, it will be the most insane 3D model I think I've ever built

I would argue pretty strenuously that overreliance on nonprofits for social services is, in fact, a centrist position at best. NGO world cloaks itself in progressivism by adhering to cultural signifiers of social justice. Endless land acknowledgements as they take public jobs from union workers.

Incredibly funny how much political discussion is driven by the four things at the bottom while everyone else is getting cooked on Facebook looking at pictures of AI Eminem opening nursing homes for crying veterans

The defining moment at the barber: "So, what do you do for work?"

Option A: Say "3D Artist." Spend 15 minutes answering follow-up questions while watching the light slowly fade from their eyes.

Option B: Say "I make videos and stuff" and pivot to their holiday plans.

This fight over “should authors get paid for their work” debate boils down to this: many, MANY people do not see art as labor.
If art isn’t labor, then you don’t have to change your political views to justify piracy. Easy peasy!

IMO the weird exception some supposed leftists seem to make for condemning-the-theft-of-labor-except-art-lol-steal-that-shit is just a weird intersection with puritan "if you enjoy yourself, it's not a real job" brainworms.

"fun" job = member of the leisure class (ROFL) = fair game. Somehow.
Honestly, people calling creators the "petite bourgeoisie" makes me want to snap.

We're working folk. And we work really hard. For next to nothing.

We're not lounging around eating bonbons. We're trying to figure out how we're going to be able to pay rent next month.

TRUMP [after spending 5 minutes with Zohran]: surplus value, it’s a very wonderful thing, very wonderful, and they’re stealing it. Can you believe that?

We’re going to be looking very strongly at the bourgeoisie, what they’re up to

Instead of working further on Chandelure, I then spent the rest of the evening messing around with the new glare node in #blender 5.0. This is fun, I've got together a few compositor node groups duplicating some of my favorite Unreal Engine bloom fx (better, actually) #b3d
