Joining Teams meetings is like the Waltons in reverse as everyone says good morning as they join.

On a bus passing through Eyam made famous by plague. No-one appears to be suffering from plague as far as I can see. I always want to shout "Bring Out Your Dead!' through the bus window but have resisted thus far.

Happy shooting Horst Wessel day everyone!

Fun fact*. Max Steiner originally wanted to use the Horst Wessel Lied as the antagonistic song the Nazis play in Rick's Cafe (to which Victor Laslo gets the orchestra to play La Marseillaise).

I have just spent about 40 minutes hovering near my front door waiting for a delivery that the app showed to be about 100-250 metres for the entire time. Time saving technology doesn't save you time if the user (me in this case to be clear) is an impatient idiot.

So grateful for all the amazing & beautiful wild bunnies who have made our yard their #home this past decade. Especially this extraordinary bun named Peanut. She inspired my YT channel & you can see why in her playlist: www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

If you’re wondering what a “least weasel” is, they absolutely live up to the name. This is the least amount of animal you can have that can still meet the bar for “is weasel”

This film is worth watching for the "You squashed my pea" scene alone.

Watson (James Mason) is chasing a solitary pea around his plate when Holmes reaches over and squashes it with a fork.

Watson looks so dejected and chunters on about it. Lovely.
Sat Nov 8, 9pm, @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social, Murder by Decree pits Christopher Plummer and James Mason as Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson vs Jack the Ripper and an establishment plot to cover up the sex-crimes of the British royal family. 4/5. #TPTVsubtitles

Finally saw a Chough in the wild on a recent trip to Tenby. Have at last now seen all UK corvid species in the wild (I saw a pair in an aviary at the British wildlife centre earlier this year but that doesn't count. Although it was great to see the greenish sheen on their feathers close up)

People/things that until recently I mistakenly thought were still with us. I've been wondering why I wasn't seeing them around. It turns out they've all been dead for some time:

1. Robert Palmer
2. Dale Winton
3. Any semblance of political backbone or even vague socialism from Kier Starmer

I like that some of the best pieces of ephemera we have from history aren't crowns or statues or epic poems but random little things that show that humans have always been silly. They found an inscription on the underside of a Roman roof tile that says "if you can read this, I've fallen down"
