All of that was un-American, too. We are striving to meet our ideals, forever.
I fear my tipping point into madness is "Thus is un-American" posts in response to ICE terrorizing immigrants. I beg you to open Wikipedia (I would say a book but let's start small) and read up on The Trail of Tears, Fugitive Slave Catchers, Japanese internment, Indian Boarding schools & Jim Crow

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.

Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

You know that meme "Remember what they took from you" that the right likes to use to launder their nihilistic values?

It's like that for us, only we actually stand for something.

/4 Trump and ICE and the rest of the fascist scum can murder and lie and oppress, but they can’t kill that decency that some real Americans have. They don’t have it, they are inadequate without it, and it infuriates them. But they can’t kill it.

Nah, it's reasonable. Fuck Snowden, that coward.
If just, why not support it in its current form? If unjust, why be particularly hard on Snowden for not wanting to risk them? There are a lot of things to rightly criticize Snowden for, but “I don’t want to go to prison” seems unreasonable to me. Most people don’t. Even good people.

The funny thing is that Liz Cheney did more to try to fight fascism, and sacrificed more to fight it, than any bluesky communist.

The world is weird.
sometimes a person dies and you think "he was a bad guy but i still feel bad for his family" and sometimes the person is Dick Cheney and you're like "never mind they deserve that misery"
