at some point Variety started using the This Person Died format for all their headlines and I gotta say, my disappointment in images has skyrocketed

Look, sometimes posting here can be a grind, but you have to jump in feet first and everything will come out fine on the other side
First off, my suspension has ended. Got a little harsh with a post a few days ago but I didn’t have my feet on the ground and I’m sorry if I offended anyone. Will try to be more chipper. Knock on wood!

correct

people who send their kids to private school inherently recognize that the main problem with public schools is the lack of funding, hence why they pay more to send their kids to the “better” expensive option

I’ll go ahead and take that private tuition $$ as taxes for public schools thx
The public option for K-12 education should be the only option. No private primary or secondary schooling in the US, period.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Emily In Paris’ impact :’)
"In 2025, 40% of women aged 15 to 44 say they would move abroad permanently if they had the opportunity. The current figure is four times higher than the 10% who shared this desire in 2014, when it was generally in line with other age and gender groups."
Record Numbers of Younger Women Want to Leave the U.S.
The percentage of younger women in the U.S. who express a desire to migrate permanently has surged in the past decade.

This is wild, and as a lifelong proud-ish Upper WEST Sider, I offer it as humble proof that although God knows we have our faults, the Upper East Side is...hooboy. Not the same AT ALL. This really captures how the UES can sometimes feel like the largest gated community in NYC.
"The more-than-300 comments responding to that anonymous post are full of mothers looking for property in New Jersey or Florida, predicting that Mamdani’s promise to make buses free will lead criminals to rape and kill innocent passengers."

All I see on Blue is..

"Tear down the Democratic Party."

No one is saying "Tear down the party that has ushered in Christofascism with their Project25 agenda, who has starved children domestic and abroad, who is kidnapping people, who has made life in the US unaffordable."

I guess the GOP is ok.

"JPMorgan on Monday said building AI infrastructure will cost more than $5tn"

Crazy idea: Why not, rather than spending $5 TRILLION dollars to pay for data centers to create fake brains, just pay actual human beings with real brains that same $5 trillion?
"Investors have been selling off the debt of US tech heavyweights, showing how jitters over Silicon Valley’s boom in spending on artificial intelligence have spilled into the bond market."

This is so cool and good.
After yesterday’s surrender, we’re launching the largest Democratic primary program that we’ve ever run.

We will not back any Senate primary candidate unless they call for Schumer to step down as Minority Leader.

If you’re as pissed as we are, join this campaign to rebuild the Democratic Party. 👇
Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.
After yet another capitulation by Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats, it's clear we need new leadership capable of mounting a serious opposition to Trump's authoritarian regime. We're launching our la...

wow I can’t believe @mer89.bsky.social voted for Cuomo smh
The Times parsed the vote using similar categories and again found that the single most determinative factor economic-like factor in the election was "commute by transit" vs "commute by car." It edged out renters vs. homeowners. There's still outstanding data but I expect these trends will hold.
