In November 2021, photojournalist Amber Bracken was arrested while documenting tensions over the Coastal GasLink pipeline being built on Wet’suwet’en territory, where I live. More than 1,000 km from Vancouver, this place isn’t easy to get to — and the pipeline was even harder to access. 🧵

Tonight I had a tour of the Ray of Hope community centre, where hot meals are served 365 days per year. Folks have access to clean bathrooms, showers, hygiene products, laundry facilities, and grocery items thanks to donations. Please help us to help them! secure.e2rm.com/registrant/T...

Trump said of Greenland, “They called me daddy. A very smart man said, ‘He’s our daddy, he’s running it.”

60 workers at Ubisoft’s studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia voted to form a union.

In response, Ubisoft announced it was closing the entire studio. Maybe it’s time to look into the millions they get in public money for operating in Canada.

I see there’s a post about microplastics going around with a photo of drinking straws, so here is my semi-regular reminder that the 3 biggest sources of microplastics are tires (45%), synthetic clothing particles (35%) and paint (~10%).
Lay article attached:
One of the biggest microplastic pollution sources isn’t straws or grocery bags – it’s your tires
Every few years, the tires on your car wear thin and need to be replaced. But where does that lost tire material go? The answer, unfortunately, is often waterways, where the tiny microplastic particle...

Sigh. Another study saying we must change our diets to address climate change. I mean sure. That's on the list but maybe we could address datacenters, private mega yacht & jet travel, cruise ships, new pipelines, government blocking renewable systems, lack of public transit, trains & bikes lanes....

Working people are facing real and growing challenges: the rising cost of living, housing and food insecurity, precarious work, attacks on public services, and growing inequality. These challenges demand a labour council that is unified, organized, visible, and unapologetically pro-worker.

I have a lot used for testing that ends up not being used, and I have this Xbox adaptive controller and the full kit. Happy to ship it to any gamer who HAS THE NEED for the full controller
