Today I mark 9 years of extra time because a family donated their loved one’s heart & lungs to me. So much gratitude for them, my husband & son, and my transplant team. Here’s a couple of messages my husband posted 9 years ago.

As I recover from COVID this week here in Edmonton, I am once again unsurprised Alberta leads the country in COVID infections heading into September. As Danielle Smith and her fascist UCP remove access to life saving vaccines. Go Alberta. <sad trumpet>

Crews from Edmonton & St. Albert were 3 hrs away. The threat was known. The window was there. It didn't happen. That is a failure.”

This is an utterly tragic outcome of what can happen in a regional healthcare system: no sharing of hospital records. This is what Alberta is heading into as the UCP & Danielle Smith privatize Alberta’s hospitals and move to a regional system. www.timescolonist.com/local-news/c...

@michaeljanz.bsky.social these are the type of people building the infill. A 10 unit mid block development with only 2 parking stalls. And 8 units going in across the street with minimal parking. Way to go, Janz. If your goal was to ruin our mature area and lower property values, you did it!

Danielle Smith's response? Restocking American booze back on Alberta shelves! She can’t do anything that Trump might not like.

She’s a terrible negotiator and can’t or won’t stand up for Canada.

I do not understand why we are not collectively freaking out.
“From 1981 to 2015, there were an average of 18 smoke hours per year in the city of Calgary. No year had over 100.

Now we see hundreds of smoke hours routinely: 315 in 2017, 450 in 2018, 439 in 2021, 512 in 2023, and 2024 was ‘only’ 200.”
