realization: english is the language i *can* use to be more honest to myself because: 1- it doesn't have a lot of the baggage that, being the growing language, portuguese carries in my soul, *and* 2- it was the language that *i* decided to learn because i wanted to talk with computers better ☺️

It’s a good pun, and it’s also true.

Butane has a density of 0.6 grams per cubic centimeter, water 1.0. So it actually is a lighter fluid.
Which is heavier, a gallon of water or a gallon of butane?

A gallon of water.

A gallon of butane is a lighter fluid.

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

i've had a crediting system like this in my brain for the last year and i desperately need to implement it. something that lets you write some real detailed crediting messages, lets you navigate them by person/discipline/organization, search them, update them remotely w/o pushing a patch, etc

yes. just, yes.
video games remember that we're a medium relying on interactive technology and we can do more than pretend we're the movies by just scrolling names with janky controls

how to be expressive in solid makeup: be capable of having your eyes do the talking...
one of their models the competitors regularly did makeup on (Nayeli Morales) had big eyes like her too and she always looked SO COOL

mesmerizing already
it's technically actually a scrolling shooter now

I'd personally swap Sith and TFA, Rogue One and Star Wars, and Solo and TPM, but those are minor quibbles. Overall, this list is accurate.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

wait until u find out about how the advertising algorithm works
Turns out this was all much ado about nothing and Google isn’t using your Gmail to train AI and if wanna turn all that stuff back on you can get your spam filters back
Looks like the article has been updated to suggest maybe they misread the policy.

I see people complaining that this also disabled their spam filters, though I still see new messages showing up in spam so it's still working fine for me after disabling things.

Looking for certain types of game suggestions, please check out what @matthijs-den-daas.bsky.social likes and give your input 🫶
Hey everyone. I need a game recommendation. I am looking for a sandboxy game that is easy to use, has low stakes, is about silly fun, and doesn't require a large time investment to get into. I like the idea of games like Stellaris, but in practice they feel very impenetrable to me.

A lot of people are going to say “they killed off Morpheus in The Matrix Online”, but the important bit is they killed him off *in a live event with paid human GMs live-roleplaying*
After "film trilogy that dropped a critical plot point exclusively via timed Fortnite event" and "video game series whose story only makes sense if you're aware of the events of a canon pachinko machine", I feel like there are whole frontiers of user-hostile narrative design waiting to be explored.

The theme for #PROCJAM 2025 is:

❄️ ☃️ COLD PLACES ☃️ ❄️

Brr! We selected this theme using a new method: I asked community members to send in theme suggestions, then we turned them into word vectors, found the average, and looked at the words nearest to that! A little bit of unpredictability. 🔮

I assumed this was a fairy tale but nope …

if you search “Kirk Cameron Banana”

there are videos literally called

“Kirk Cameron and Bananas”
One of my favorite stories is Kirk Cameron and a random guy making a video about how the existance of a Banana is an “atheist nightmare” because it’s clearly “designed” by a “creator” …

without the pair ever considering that modern bananas are the result of
7000 years of selective breeding.

Anyway … point is … regardless of your religious beliefs … pretty much any produce you are likely to enjoy consuming is the result of thousands of years of horticultural development.

(Including Apples … 🍎🐍)

i feel it should be mandatory to link to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brassic... every time we discuss anything related to horticulture history
