“The Supreme Court decided not to have a Christmas party for 12 straight years because the justices couldn’t agree on whether to invite the Court’s Black employees” is about as tidy an encapsulation of the Supreme Court’s whole deal as I can think of
The Alarmingly Racist History of the Supreme Court’s Canceled 1947 Christmas Party
The Court held its first-ever office Christmas party in 1946. The following year, the clerks suggested inviting Black employees. It did not go over well.

"In retrospect, the Court’s willingness a quarter-century later in Palmer v. Thompson to allow cities to shut down public swimming pools rather than allow Black people to use them makes a lot more sense." whew Lord

Everyone knows the most important part of being a congressman is the size of your electoral victory.

In the House, if you win by more than 10 points, they let you vote twice.

And if you win by more than 20, you get to remove one (1) law per term.
when we said “defer electoral strategy to the actual politicians running for actual offices” we meant “after calculating wins above replacement somehow”

Unfortunately what happens is you get a new cartel because whoops turns out that when you empower paramilitaries with the ability to Go After Bad Guys with little oversight it turns out being around lots of untraceable money you can take with violence leads to exactly what you think
Part of me wants to see what happens when a bunch of Trump megafans take their luxury yachts with the MAGA flags and try to interdict actual cartel operations.
Flagrant violations of international law aside, what a hilarious admission of weakness from a senator who oversees a bloated military better funded than the next three superpowers combined.

This administration is made up of internet influencers and Fox News mainstays who live for the camera, so I guess it’s not surprising they have no idea how to *hide* something from the media.

Why Women and Diversity Matter

In 2007 Marie Villafaña, Asst US Attorney in FL & prosecutor on the Epstein case drafted a 60-count indictment of sex trafficking charges against Epstein. She came up against her office superiors including then-US Attorney Alexander Acosta & federal charges vanished.

Bondi and her gang of cover-up thugs are so bad at this.

When you search the lastest Epstein files for Trump, you only get two images, and both are bookshelves with a Trump book on them.

When you search "Clinton" there are 11 pages to scroll through.

This Black Friday more and more people went into debt or relied on Buy-Now-Pay-Later programs to make purchases.

Maybe instead of adding more gold to the White House walls, Donald Trump should work on lowering costs.

Just remember: The Kennedy Center has not been renamed; that would require an act of Congress. Rather, a new and erroneous sign has been placed on the building.

Legal analyst Elie Mystal explains how Trump's latest executive order upended the Civil Rights Act. When it comes to civil rights violations or discrimination claims, the DOJ will no longer consider one specific kind of evidence:

Math
The DOJ Just Made It Almost Impossible to Prove Racism Exists
By rolling back “disparate impact" claims, the Trump administration is reducing courts to mere rubber stamps for the white supremacy written into the laws.

Your cable and streaming prices could go up.

How? Nexstar is trying to buy a competitor, Tegna. And the Trump admin could give it the greenlight.

Nexstar-Tegna would control TV stations reaching 80% of TV households. 80%!

With one company dominating, they could raise prices.
Elizabeth Warren, Congressional Democrats Push FCC and DOJ to Scrutinize Nexstar-Tegna Deal (Exclusive)
The politicians argue that the deal will "increase costs, drive job losses, and harm local journalism" in a letter to Brendan Carr and Gail Slater.

1. The exterior signage at the Kennedy Center is being changed, with President Trump’s name being added above President Kennedy’s name.

Informal name changes can be made, but how is this not a violation of federal law?
