I look at replies to this stuff and there’s so much rejoicing at the idea of MAGAts suffering. And I could point out that the suffering isn’t gonna discriminate, which is true, but also I can’t help thinking that I’m not a huge fan of people suffering en masse but thats just me I guess…
@schumer.senate.gov but they promised, right Chuck, & they always follow through with their promises…

It’s not a fuck you to Trump. The tide has turned and they are realizing they’ve torpedoed their careers and legacies and now they’re trying the old “You can’t fire me I quit” gambit. Our national has been functionally destroyed by the choices they made, and they must never be free of that.
The rumor is more GOP members of Congress are getting ready to retire as a fuck you to the White House.

Why not do it today?

Chat, is it a good sign when the Atlantic's Thanksgiving take is "cabbage is affordable"?
Cabbage is affordable, delicious, and astoundingly versatile, @giladedelman.bsky.social writes. The underrated crucifer “is fit for a king”:

Embrace cabbage.

I have some thoughts about this but I have no idea how to condense them so that’s gonna bother me for a bit.

There's a part of learning, which generative AI completely turns into dogshit, which is *doing something you could not have done before*

Whether it's drawing, playing an instrument, solving a physics problem, organizing an essay, you find yourself doing easily what previously you found overwhelming

Also, this is one of the fundamental problems with the concept of economic growth: by itself it is meaningless and does not denote benefit. This kind of growth is not positive for people and isn't needed.
One explanation for economic populism in the US is the recurring cycle of bubbles and bailouts that happens without any democratic input

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you?

I…wait…what now?
Honestly I think the story about the 2 white American men who wanted to hire homeless people as mercenaries to murder all the Black men on an island off Haiti, and then keep the women and children as sex slaves should be getting more traction because what the fuck

Love libraries and librarians!
Sometimes I think it’s going to be the librarians who will save us all.

My favorite thing to do on social media is to see a post I like, respond to it and immediately upon hitting the post button seeing the original was from 32 seconds ago so I can obsess over the certainty the OP thinks I’m a creepy stalker now.

It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

After one of the worst acts of racial terror in our history, *we erased it.*

We didn't teach it.

We didn't take anyone to trial.

Police records disappeared.

So did newspaper archives.

The silence continued until 2020, when people, you could say, woke up.

The thing I wish people like Carville et al would realize is that you cannot have ‘pure populist economic rage’ if you leave out the ‘woke’ bits. It doesn’t work like that.

It’s weird to me they don’t see this, so let’s see if we can walk it out.

Hard fucking same.
I'm getting real tired of not being able to trust that a video game doesn't have AI crap in it:

Sharing this again since it’s pertinent:
This fight over “should authors get paid for their work” debate boils down to this: many, MANY people do not see art as labor.
If art isn’t labor, then you don’t have to change your political views to justify piracy. Easy peasy!
November 24, 2025 at 7:11 PM
All of this
Or you could reach out to the author of the book you want and say that you're struggling and maybe we could work something out?

I've been poor most of my life. I live in an area where libraries aren't seen as important. You know what I've never done? Pirate a book.
