I recently toured the Turina James building and was really impressed with Purpose Dignity Action’s programming. They treat clients with dignity and individualized care and it’s changing lives. They also do “after care”, continuing to provide services for around 12 months once someone is housed.

So disappointed!!! Come on folks. These neighborhood centers are great places for adding density. We say we care about housing costs and homelessness, climate change and trees and businesses, and then we repeat the same mistakes!! Exclusionary zoning is a root cause of so many of our problems.
Rinck's amendment to restore eight neighborhood centers eliminated by Mayor Bruce Harrell in his proposed comprehensive plan fails, with only Rinck voting yes.

OPCD did extensive outreach across the city, holding meetings and doing neighborhood walks and doing virtual town halls and taking THOUSANDS of comments from people across the city, but some people didn't like the outcome. That's what happened.
