Learned that ORCA cards can carry a negative balance! I was even able to make a transfer. Got to refill my card after reaching my destination. Thank you @kingcountymetro.bsky.social 🙏🏼

Did you know apples could get sunburned? 🍎☀️
This great project protects WA apples while generating solar power. More climate-smart solutions!

Love seeing @wilsonkatieb.bsky.social, a true housing champion, speaking out for stacked flats and a more affordable future for Seattle renters and the next generation 🙌🏼 How cute is her kid??

🏢🏡 Omg the strong urge to stop every person talking about trees at City Council today…If we don’t build more homes in Seattle we WILL convert more of WA’s beautiful, dense forests into parking lots and suburbs, driving up emissions along the way.
Attachment to a singular tree kills forests 🌲

“Why should Seattle City Council have lower ethical standards than the U.S. Supreme Court?”
For real.
May 23, 2025 at 12:43 AM
Reminder from CM @alexis4seattle.bsky.social that she represents and serves the entire city, even if other councilmembers with financial conflicts of interest would have to recuse themselves on votes regarding things like tenant protections in one of the most expensive cities in the country 🤔

@cmdanstrauss.bsky.social quoting then CM Bruce Harrell on the need to maintain current ethics standards
May 22, 2025 at 11:28 PM
“I always want to be on the side of transparency and ethics,” CM Rivera says (unironically) as she looks to weaken ethics rules for city councilmembers
May 22, 2025 at 11:17 PM
Current ethics rules “disenfranchise” critical voices, CM Moore claims. Ya, corporations can’t vote.
May 22, 2025 at 11:12 PM
Still going strong, standing for ethics and renter protections
May 22, 2025 at 10:46 PM
Councilmember @alexis4seattle.bsky.social appears to be the only Councilmember fighting to hear from the public and keep comment open as nearly all speak out against rollbacks to ethics changes
May 22, 2025 at 10:19 PM
Very engaged councilmembers…
Seriously though, all other public servants in our city must stick to a strong code of ethics. Councilmembers should NOT be able to vote in their own financial interests.
Not a single commenter supports rolling back ethics standards, because duh? 🤷🏻‍♂️
May 22, 2025 at 10:06 PM
Housing advocates going strong 2 hours into City Council hearing.
Let’s address the housing shortage, build more homes in Seattle, and prevent conversion of Washington forests to sprawl.

Associated Recreation Council is celebrating our 50th anniversary this year! First celebration was last weekend — childcare families skated and ARC staff shared a vision for lifelong learning with fewer barriers. Special shoutout Jackie, Sherrie, Ashley, Matt, & Angela for your passion and care
