Tonight, we got results that were even better than we hoped, and it’s likely to only get better.

Seattle, you showed up!

It’s clear that voters want change.

This is your city.

Join the campaign, and let’s get this done!
Katie ready for the rest of the race. Katie with the crowd.

I believe that we can create a city that feels like home to working families, not only people with six figure incomes.

We are facing an affordability crisis in our city that is worse than any that we have ever seen before. More people have died outside in the last four years than in any previous term. It doesn’t have to be this way.

We’ll be sharing more
clips from that debate in the future, but in the meantime enjoy these behind-the-scenes photos from Sarah Kusz

A few days ago, I was fortunate enough to debate the mayor on stage at Pigott Auditorium at Seattle University. Afterwards, it was wonderful to meet so many students who were eager to make positive change in our city.

Hi, this is a great question. While running for mayor, I’ve been focused on what my administration can accomplish to win progressive revenue here in Seattle. As Mayor, I will continue to advocate for statewide progressive revenue alongside Washingtonians and our allied representatives in Olympia.

I believe we can get new revenue and keep world-class employers in Seattle, without layering on more taxes for working people and cutting services we all rely on.

We need new progressive taxes. I support a capital gains tax, and others like the JumpStart Payroll Expense Tax, which I helped design and pass four years ago, and is currently balancing the mayor's budget at city hall.

Lower and middle income households pay an unfair share of the tax burden in Seattle. We have some rebalancing to do. Asking big businesses and wealthy folks to pay their fair share in making this city great is part of that.

Might as well win….well, you know the rest.

Update: Jorge Polanco ALSO deserves free summer childcare!

Go Mariners! We should all be as smart and courageous as Josh Naylor. #thisisyourcity

This was a very memorable moment at the debate at Seattle University. @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social climbing into a crowd of students waiting for selfies — which you can see on the campaign Instagram.
Katie climbs to meet their fans on the ground like a true grassroots shero!

I am grateful for the endorsement of the largest public sector union in Washington State, SEIU 775. #thisisyourcity

For our fourth installment of “Harrell's Big Business Backers,” we present Jon Shirley, a former Microsoft big wig who lives in a 27,000 sq ft mansion in Medina, owns a $200M art collection, and has an entire 12,000 sq ft showroom just for his cars. Shirley donated $15K to Harrell.
A graphic emulating a baseball card with a headshot of Job Shirley on a green background with floating dollar bills, showing he donated $15,000
The back of the baseball card graphic with bulleted points that reads: former president, Chief operating officer, and board of director of Microsoft; lives in Medina in a $27,000 ft estate near Bill Gates and other billionaires; built a 12,000 ft showroom near his mansion for his sports car collection; amassed a $200 million art collection. what he's buying - low taxes for the wealthy.

It's outrageous that they are going to spend over $1 million on negative ads. Join me this Saturday on Capitol Hill to knock on some doors! I know Katie, and she's a thoughtful, collaborative, caring, policy nerd (complimentary), who cares about delivering results for people not just sound bites.

Local Queens Miss Texas 1988 and Harper Bizarre hosted a debate watch party at Neighbours Nightclub, and they took a minute to share why Katie is the candidate who stands with artists, performers, and Seattle’s LGBTQ+ community.

It was a pleasure to join The Breakfast Group this morning for an important discussion about mentorship, building African-American wealth, and public safety in our city. I am grateful for the invitation and I hope to return soon! #thisisyourcity

As mayor, I will work with SPD’s leadership to improve the culture and training within the department to increase trust with communities throughout the city. #thisisyourcity

I am glad to see that the SPD has responded to the outpouring of disapproval for Capt. Tietjen’s promotion. Abusive actions and anti-trans speech must not be tolerated in SPD.
