On top of THE NAKED GUN being so stupidly funny (without even needing grade it on a curve of 2020s comedies), it also looks good, too! Like a real movie! With proper lighting and real shooting locations and actors on the same set as each other interacting with one another. And extras!! What a hoot!

Good morning! I took the opportunity of the BEATLES ANTHOLOGY's streaming debut to write about THE COMPLEAT BEATLES, the (imho) far superior Fab Four doc, and why, because of the ANTHOLOGY, it's so hard to see.

The thing with wealthy characters in movies/tv I’ve noticed lately is that they are all just vaguely rich. Wealth as story mechanic rather than character. They’re rarely seen actually working or even so much as knowing what they do for a profession, just existing within their excessive luxury.

I admit, I just really like Charlie Shackleton as a filmmaker. Like Marge Simpson and her potatoes, I just think his work is neat. Playful, but not obtuse. Shackleton’s films are “arty” in the sense t...

The so-called ceasefire definitely worked to mostly push Gaza off the front page, so... mission accomplished, I guess.

Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

I watched the Diane Warren documentary and did not get what I wanted. But we do learn a lot about her cat, so there's that. It's essentially one big feature length fyc campaign for the new original song that'll inevitably lose to SINNERS or KPOP DEMON HUNTERS.

Gotta be honest here, THE AGE OF DISCLOSURE gave off big mockumentary vibes. And I say this as somebody who, like Ellie Arroway, believes it'd be a waste of space for us to be here by ourselves. But these men (all men!) talk like pop girlie stans defending their fave's flop. Like, go off diva, yes.

Thoughts on Chris Kasick's true crime podcasting autopsy of sorts, CITIZEN SLEUTH. A documentary that doesn't entirely work, but may be the first to actually make me think about some of these things so that makes it worth admiring.
