Sometimes YouTube Music's radio algorithm is embarrassing. I don't use it intentionally, but I hit the end of a Dinosaur Jr. album, and the next thing chosen by the autoplay was ... Flogging Molly?

When I use the phrase "speedrunning pitchforks," I purposely don't specify who's likely to carry them. If you lead with broad antagonism, you will breed antagonists from every corner.
PUNCHBOWL: “.. GOP members messaged us over the weekend saying that they, too, are considering retiring in the middle of the term. Here’s one particularly exercised senior House Republican:

They’re never gonna have another American pope. They’re gonna be like “the last one had raves”
He said "Amen" straight into the drop

Lmao Pope Leo threw a rave for an archbishop's 75th birthday this is kind of incredible

Boooooooo! Fucking boooooooooo. Someone hand me a tomato.
Was excited to have a free evening until I was reminded that I agreed months ago to see "Wicked: For Good" tonight with some friends. Normally I'm psyched for a movie, but it really feels like I'm just going to put the reps in on this one.

I spend time with many people whose organizing practice revolves around harm - preventing, reducing, addressing...

Among them, I most trust those who regularly take accountability for harms they cause, rather than pathologizing harm so much that they can't sync being harmful with their self image.

The one that most outs me as an American here is peanut butter. Without peanut butter, I would die.

Day three of having a stye.

I will not describe the unholy abominations that have discharged from the socket. Checked with urgent care, though, and they say just keep warm-compressing.
I have a gnarly stye for the first time in my life, and I really don't recommend it. 0/10

Actually found this about a month ago on YouTube after watching "A House of Dynamite." Very much a TV movie, but still has some powerful moments. The scene where the Minuteman missiles fly out of the silos and every citizen just watches helplessly ...
Tonight in 1983, more than 100 million Americans saw multiple thermonuclear weapons destroy Kansas City, Missouri, in “The Day After” on ABC. A.C. Nielsen Company reported that 62 percent of television sets that night were tuned to the film. I watched in my packed college dorm lounge. How about you?

Its very very bad that the President publicly posts a statement that, were I to post the same thing about him, would have the FBI knocking on my door.

The discourse around performative reading makes me want to zap myself to Mars like Dr. Manhattan.
Read What You Want
Engagement-based media has worried the concept of performative reading into a trend, and too many are falling for it

Sure, maybe it's always been bad. But has it ever been this stupid? I feel like there should be more focus on how stupid it all is, 'cuz it sure seems like it's never been stupider.
