Trump talks and acts like he's already consolidated authoritarian control. But he hasn't, not even close, and the prospects of him achieving it are getting more and more remote. So I suspect these outbursts are motivated to some degree by his own growing sense of impotence.

Those radicalised to the right take mild criticism with the same affront as a thorough fucking drubbing, so you might as well say what you think. And if ‘mild criticism’ is the best you have of these people, do better.
