This is all as real as the magic baby-eating of the satanic panic, but it will continue to be acceptable without any sort of retrospective admissions because it allows free-fire for a specific form of sexism and misogynistic paranoia. All of this has happened before, and all of it will happen again.
Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

If I get stabbed to death and my family decides to use that as an opportunity to campaign against 'being too online' instead of against 'stabbing trans people' I preemptively encourage anyone who finds out about that to call my family a bunch of fuckwitted asses who only care about clout.
Do you not think it's bizarre to have strangers on the internet decide they know better than Brianna's own loved ones on what is or isn't insulting to her memory?

I've got no time for Rosie Duffield, but she turned up at a drop-in event in Parliament and that's been the limit of her involvement.

I reject the attempts to blame individual or specific judges for these issues. The 'enemies of the people' narrative is appalling. But if we are to restore public faith in the judiciary, especially among marginalised groups, we must address the structural prejudices within our institutions.

I believe in the ability of the law to do good. I believe in the rule of law, and in human rights. I wouldn't be a lawyer if I didn't. But I also know that the judiciary does not operate separately to the society it sits within, and cannot help but replicate that society's prejudices.

It’s no surprise that only 31% of trans people trust a legal system built to enforce prejudice, says Jess O’Thomson.

I have already had several lawyers (former and present) reach out to thank me for my bravery in writing this piece. It's astonishing that stating such an obvious truth (that the judiciary cannot avoid the prejudices of the society it operates within) requires courage at all.

I confess to some mild curiosity as to how it is that Labour Cabinet ministers agreeing to push through a series of measures over the last year condemned as overtly racist by everyone to their left could not see that they were just buttering their own faces for the leopards.
Absolutely disgusted to hear about the racism Wes Streeting mentions here directed at school children who were visiting Parliament.

He has taken the post down, rightly, to protect the children.

But it's wrong that he had to do it.

Disgusted with so many people in our country. Racism is never OK.

Mum clearly thinks social media transed her kid, and if she wasn't trans she wouldnt have been murdered in cold blood, so social media is to blame.

Cw: Esther Ghey shamelessly deadnaming her daughter, Brianna

Esther doesn't care, not about her daughter's cause of death, not that she died, that she was murdered, it's not about Brianna at all for her

What she cares about is banning phones and isolating children
She has a rationale for it as part of her book promo.

Bonus: she's friends with the mom of one the killers.
