Also the figure skating community in this country has gone through so much tragedy in the last year with the AA 5343 crash on the Potomac, with several of the passengers on that flight coming back from nationals in Wichita. I’m reminded of it every time I step into a local rink to announce hockey.

Yeah and financial success or desired property was a terribly great predictor of lynchings as well.
Learning about the Tulsa massacre was really clarifying for me. Black Wall Street was an upwardly mobile Black community that did all the things white America has long insisted they do to join the ranks of the US middle class. And they still got pogrommed.
