I actually don’t know how you could live in Northern Virginia and work in DC and believe this. The sheer amount of cognitive dissonance to maintain beliefs totally orthogonal to observable reality

Cost effective lab grown meat is worth working on for a couple reasons, one is that being able to have high quality meat without killing animals would be cool, the other is that you have to solve a lot of difficult cell biology problems to do it which will have cool implications in other places
