"The truth, my experience suggests, is perhaps even scarier: ICE’s recruitment push is so sloppy that the administration effectively has no idea who’s joining the agency’s ranks."

The amount of quotes I had back in 2023 that still feel applicable is equal parts comical and debilitating

“We’re worried that if this goes forward, it will eat up transportation dollars for other projects,” Morgan said. “We’re asking for choice and backups.”

The legislature did a grave disservice when we failed to secure long term funding for transit service. I'm heartbroken to read the scale of cuts TriMet is now proposing. I hope you'll hold me accountable to prioritizing working with my colleagues to find a solution. #orpol

TriMet Announces Steep Service Cuts to Close Budget Gap
The upshot? Twenty bus routes altered, another 15 eliminated, and a light-rail line that will stop at its halfway point, requiring a transfer to get from Clackamas Town Center to downtown Portland.

This is an excellent two-part overview of one of the problems of politics that those who don't do this professionally don't see - our failure to fund sustained political work means there aren't career ladders for operatives.

I think the ICE agents work hard and deserve a nice little Kavanaugh Snack, as a treat
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

Sarah McBride rarely centers her identity as a trans woman. Republicans do that for her. So when she steps to the microphone and talks about "21 years of unwavering homesickness," it means something. @mcbride.house.gov www.readtpa.com/p/watch-rep-...

A Democratic win in TN-7 is a long shot, but not impossible.

This is a district that was created when they gerrymandered the state to take away the Democratic seat in Nashville, and it was one Trump won by 22 points a year ago.

If the GOP squeaks by with say 5-7 points, that's a red alarm.
