Years back just when Netflix was getting big, there was an article in the Guardian saying what the UK television industry needed was to make a British version of House of Cards.
"Could you make a British version of the Office?!"

It's now the month of the Snorse.

truly amazing to see news on here and elsewhere filled with inaction from ukgov on the horrors of grok, then open up reddit to see *incredibly* accusatory sponsored adverts from ukgov warning me that nonconsensual imagery is a crime. yeah thanks for that, maybe someone should tell ukgov

i wonder what tv show will be the next one to prompt the Sherlock Things response: i didn't get what i wanted so here's a really complex reading into small details proving that the showrunners agree with me and i will get all my wants in one episode after the lying episode that lied
It’s ironic that Stranger Things, a show inspired by a conspiracy theory, is now the subject of a conspiracy theory.
Compelling evidence that ignores anything that doesn’t fit. The confusion of human mistake for agency. A desire for the world to be more exciting than it is.
A good case study.
The Stranger Thing fans who think a secret real ending is going to drop today have not considered that an extra episode could be worse. Or even if it’s good, that’s bad because the Duffers will have wasted everyone’s time even more.

As I've pointed out on many occasions, The Monkees, the TV show, is the clear inspiration for The Goodies and The Young Ones. There's a very obvious evolutionary lineage there, one of the rare times a US sitcom influenced UK comedy pre-nineties.
As well as the '60s Batman TV series, I'm also doing a Monkees re-watch. They compliment each other, for obvious reasons. One thing that's surprised me about S1 of the latter is, despite being more conventional than the trippy S2, it's still quite meta. They're already poking fun at the formula.

This is how enjambment can work in a poem. Bridge 77 on the Macclesfield Canal allows a horse to cross the canal without having to untie it from the canal boat.

I've seen this too. It's not a platform problem this time, it's a shouting-into-the-void problem. And everybody shouts their own way, so people are getting testy.

Except, of course, for me, the only sane man, the man whose shouting is 100% correct.
across two (2) platforms/networks, i've observed over the past ~72 hrs everyone having a total Tower of Babel meltdown at each other due to, idk, added geopolitical stress

some people are very wrong, some people deserve some modicum of grace anyway, & everyone is reading hastily/making assumptions

people were on here saying netflix will make k-pop demon hunters their next money-spinner after stranger things. i'm not against it if we could get sequels that are, like, k-rock demon farmers, or k-classical goblin gatherers

Saw a post theorizing you now encounter more people listening to things on speakers in public spaces because Apple banning the headphone jack did not result in people switching to Bluetooth headphones, it resulted in people abandoning headphones. I'm on an airplane RN and. Thinking about that. Hard.

Scottish Labour are on course for zero votes, but they're planning to see if negative votes are possible
"SCOTTISH Labour MPS are privately calling for Wes Streeting to stand against Sir Keir Starmer before May to avoid a wipeout in the Holyrood election, The Telegraph can reveal.

"The Health Secretary’s allies are pushing for a “Wes coronation” to give Labour new energy in Scotland..."
