We’re afraid Terry has taken a turn for the worse on the latest day of #PlasticineHalloween. What would YOU like to dress him up as?

The academic thinking around the serial killers thing is - these are the kids of the dads who fought in the two world wars and came back severely traumatised. They passed that trauma onto their kids and that’s why every tenth person in the late 70s was a serial killer. Is it the same?

Hit me with your informed opinions please, Bluesky.

In the 60s/70s and 80s you couldn’t move for cults.

These days, there’s a handful of fiat luxes, a hard core of Hare Krishnas - what’s happened?

Why did cults take off and why did they die off?

(Cults and serial killers had the same heyday)

It's amazing. Really looking forward to this.

It's a very peculiar piece of casting. But - hey! - maybe he'll capture the *essence* of The Boss in this risible-looking film?*

*He won't.

It does, but I will almost certainly watch it whenever it's available to stream. Y'know, for a laugh.

The faux-profound stuff about the hole in his bedroom floor. Jesus. Did Dewey Cox die in vain?

I love Springsteen's Nebraska. I've reviewed the deluxe edition in the latest issue of Classic Rock. The story behind the album is interesting and could potentially form the basis of a decent film, but I just cannot get over the laughable earnestness of this trailer.

In her life, Marilyn Monroe was exploited and abused by so many men.
Studio executives, so many people.
After she died, men continued to exploit her for their pleasure: trying to get themselves buried near/above her.
What your writer did here is obscene, nonconsensual and makes me feel slightly ill

Yikes. Princess Terry has been captured by Jabba AGAIN. They just can’t catch a break.

Keep those costume suggestions for #PlasticineHalloween coming in, folks! Thanks so much to @alimak66.bsky.social for this one!

Yesterday my etsy shop had preciously one view. (And i think that was probably me) If you like my stuff please repost. An eccentric millionaire with lots of empty wall space could be scrolling your timeline right now. marswasrubbish.etsy.com/listing/1579...
One of my prints “And now we’ll abseil down the other side” Shows a mountain that’s actually a monster with abseilers on top of it.

He's a tremendous non-stop quote geyser, our Zen Buddhist master.

I'm currently mired in guru-based research for the next @sodisappointed.bsky.social episode. The story behind the disastrous 1968 Beach Boys/Maharishi co-headlining tour will definitely be included. A doomed venture, for all sorts of reasons.

Morcam-be and Wise, as he introduced them. But yeah, Ed recognised talent when he saw it.

So that's another TV recommendation. It's excellent, a revelatory piece of work.

We're all aware of Ed Sullivan, that stiff and - almost literally - square variety show host who introduced Elvis and the Beatles to the American throng. But did you know that he was sincerely dedicated to presenting Black artists on his show? I didn't, until I watched the Netflix doc Sunday Best.

It really does. No cloying sentimentality, just genuine warmth and earned emotion.

I'm tired, but you get the gist.

Film Club proves that it's possible to write a rom-com knowingly inspired by other rom-coms without coming across as unbearably arch or smug. It draws attention to its influences while being a rather beautiful thing all of its own. Post-modernism delivered sincerely and well. I'm a fan.

Oh! She's a very good actor.

A reminder that this is really good, and you should watch it. Or don't, it makes no odds to me. But it's there if you want it.

I'm enjoying Film Club, a new BBC Three comedy-drama written by Aimee Lou Wood and Ralph Davis, with a cast including Wood, Suranne Jones and a before-he-was-famous Owen Cooper. A warm, touching, likeable show, it starts on 7th October.

What an absolute treasure Diane Keaton was. Her wit never tired, nor did her style.
