Just another comrade doing her part to agitate and support her beautiful community of Mankato, MN.
One great thing about my life is that I have the joyful task of helping young adults navigate obstacles so they can keep going. It really is so so good some days.

Whittier was my home for more than 10% of my life. I lived on 26th and Garfield for over 5 years. I can barely think today. But I have students to serve and care for and be a role model to, to show that they can't get us down. That we will win. Minneapolis is my home, my coming-of-age city.

Who are they? Where are they? No one is safe. I don't want to send my kid to school.
CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.

This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting

The cold of January and the rise of the revolution is making for some strange bedfellows, indeed!

The first 3 letters to the editor printed in today’s Minnesota Star Tribune, on MLK Day, were a *choice*:

1) do not say Abolish ICE
2) do not protest in a way that makes anyone angry
3) do not whistle; do not honk horns

Today is 13 months without alcohol. 1 year, 1 month, and I am glad I did it. I celebrated my buying myself a new planter and some soil; I am going to replant my jade plant. Wild times.

I disagree. People with the privilege to hide are doing so. Many, many poor people are risking themselves everyday. If they don't work, they cannot live. Yeah.
I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

Unions and community orgs are calling for a Minnesota-wide shutdown in 10 days to protest the ferocious assault by federal immigration agents. They're saying on Jan 23, no work, no school, no shopping. SEIU Local 26, UNITE HERE Local 17, & others are supporting, w/ more to join. By me, Amie Stager

MPD: We will not cooperate with ICE…

… except when we are surveilling the communities most impacted by harm with top-military ISR surveillance technology that feeds into the MN Fusion Center and directly to ICE and DHS.
🧵: The MN State Patrol has been out in joint operations w/MPD since the ICE murder today.

Here's what's critical about this: That surveillance collected for “crowd monitoring” does not remain local by default. Once incorporated into state intelligence systems, it's accessible to federal agencies.

Marched with thousands of others today in 20 degrees and wind. I walked past where Renee Good was murdered, and then past where George Floyd was murdered. People are so angry. Powderhorn is very loud today.

A good man, my friend Larry, has died. Larry and I met in rehab. He passed away in the loving presence of his mother and sister, and that is a very good thing. Addiction is not often so kind. RIP Larry.

An off-duty ICE agent was just confronted in Minneapolis after people noticed a Nazi SS lightning bolt tattoo on his neck.

If you’re proud enough to ink it on your neck, why are you running when people notice?

Sincere question and I hope we can make a safe place for this discussion, are there people out there who feel like they don't know how to get involved and make a difference?

What do you feel like the barriers are for you getting involved in organizing?

Have you tried and failed?

It should go without saying that we cannot roll back the tide of fascism and white supremacy without also rolling back the uniformed violent, white supremacist paramilitary forces who drain the majority of our city budgets.

But it's not said enough.
