Interesting observation of declining MPG of gas-powered vehicles as they age, something I wasn't aware of. Among other things, it puts concerns about battery capacity degradation in a rather different light. And I don't think combustion engines are typically recycled. old.reddit.com/r/dataisbeau...

the fact that amtrak cascades hit another ridership record in FY25 despite shutting down for two weeks and spending half the year running smaller trains with higher prices bc of the horizon recall is another sign that the demand for rail in the pnw is genuinely insatiable
