How to Film ICE
Filming federal agents in public is legal, but avoiding a dangerous—even deadly—confrontation isn’t guaranteed. Here’s how to record ICE and CBP agents as safely as possible and have an impact.

I wonder if the New York Times will go after any of the prominent academics in the Epstein files for being rapists as hard as they went after Claudine Gay for being kind of sloppy with citations in her graduate thesis.

If not, why not?
Here’s Duke behavioral economist Dan Ariely asking Jeffrey Epstein for “the name and email of the redhead that was here with you.” This is four years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for procuring a child for prostitution.

ICE are running around in the streets using facial recognition on random people and telling anyone filming them they're a domestic terrorist and Democrats solution is to equip every ICE agent with their very own body-worn surveillance camera

I can't get over how weird and gross this image is, and the Clawd/Moltbot developers *chose* to put it right at the top of the readme to represent the project raw.githubusercontent.com/moltbot/molt...

Making a complicated design based on vibes and bringing it to a stakeholder to ask "hey what do you think?" is the behavior of a junior UX designer, and wastes everyone's time until they are trained out of it.

With the power of generative AI, now everyone in your company can be that junior designer

Right now, Democrats have the power to defund and abolish ICE. We should do it. This is about right and wrong—and the murder we are seeing on the streets is just plain wrong. Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is supporting the murder of Americans. We can stop this.

while i do appreciate a technical correction the proper response to "this is not like anne frank, actually" is "if you are making legalistic arguments to distinguish your actions from hitler you are already losing"
To avoid the possibility Holocaust remembrance might lead to empathy for migrants, Trump's antisemitism envoy claims Anne Frank "was in Amsterdam legally."

In reality, Margot Frank received a summons to go to a labor camp on July 5, 1942. After ignoring this call, they were in Amsterdam illegally.

elected democrats who want their constituents to remain non-violent in their protests of these abuses must actually offer a path for ending the abuses non-violently. they currently are not as a party and it’s a major problem.
🚨WHOA. The El Paso Medical Examiner says it will rule the death of a 55-year-old Cuban man at ICE's "Camp East Montana" tent camp as a homicide.

He was allegedly choked to death by a guard during a "struggle" after he refused to enter a housing unit without his medications.

A competent opposition political party would cut together the footage of what ICE had been doing in the twin cities with Mike Johnson saying "ICE is doing what ICE is designed to do" and have it in ads all across the country
Mike Johnson comes out against additional guardrails on ICE as Democrats call for it.

“I think there's a lot of Democrats playing games right now with national security and with law enforcement. And I think it's dangerous. Ice is doing what ice is designed to do by its very name.”

Wow — New YouGov / Economist poll:

46% support abolishing ICE
43% oppose abolishing ICE

This is the first time that abolishing ICE has received net positive support

But when her queer and trans constituents asked her to meet with us about legislation that could harm the most vulnerable members of our community, she wouldn’t even look us in the eye."
It appears that some members of the Democratic Party are supporting KOSA.

The act purports to be about protecting children, but it could weaponize Trump's FTC to target LGBTQ+ content on the internet.

“Abolish ICE” is such a clear and powerful message and it’s the *populist* one. People really don’t like what’s happening! I thought these bozos were all about polls?

It’s actually worse that you let ICE use Flock data even though you don’t have a contract with them. You understand how that’s worse right?

MPD and Mayor Bowser have been dodging responsibility for their support of ICE so long that even Brooke Pinto is fed up
Interesting: D.C. Police Chief Jeffery Carroll is not responding to detailed written questions from the D.C. Council about MPD's cooperation with federal agencies on immigration enforcement.

"The council and the public need answers to these questions," says Ward 2 Councilmember Brooke Pinto today.

Senators from states where Trump’s Gestapo have killed people should publicly commit to rejecting unanimous consent in the senate until the House holds public hearings on what happened and the people responsible resign.
I'm monitoring first awful reports of two people shot in Portland by federal law enforcement. I'll keep you updated, but Trump's deployment of federal agents in my hometown is clearly inflaming violence — and must end.

it is outright murder. talking about it on here means bracing for the inevitable "they do this all the time," which is true!, but probably not a useful comment, as the point is not to engender dialogue & analysis, but to join together in outrage at state violence
there is now a second angle (video going around). it is worse. this is murder. period.
losing my mind at the "she should have followed directions" people

really? really? you're cool with "if you don't follow directions, they get to kill you"? that seems like a good state of affairs to you? that seems like how law enforcement ought to work: instant obeisance or death?

How can you even measure public support for an impeachment case that has never been made to the public? “Public support” is fungible and can be rallied. There is a lot of value in trying to do that!
Why do impeachment measures when it just is going to fail? It's a futile gesture. Republicans will just table it. The best argument is to put Republicans on record. But does the public support impeachment?
