One thing the regime has failed to learn from that is a common failure of other regimes attempting state capture is that if you create significant disruption in the day-to-day lives of people, they suddenly have both a lot of free time and identifiable reasons to rebel against you.

I don’t blame social media for everything but I absolutely blame it for people using the remove of the internet to say stuff online that would get them punched in the face if they said it in person
trump getting his feelings hurt by european leaders is the culmination of this new type of guy that emerged in the last decade or so: guy who goes out of his way to be a huge asshole who then gets really offended when the people he's being an asshole to don't like him

It is supremely ironic that the person training us to use the ADA accessibility checker is using instructions like "over here" that are not accessible to my colleagues with visual impairments

I agree with Never Trumpers on a lot, but split hard on this: I do not think the Democratic Party needs to convince swing voters that Democratic candidates aren't too liberal. I think the party needs to convince swing voters that they themselves are actually quite liberal. They just won't admit it.
