My read is that Trump has concluded, from his Jan 2020 Sulemani strike to now, that short sharp precision strikes / JSOC raids are basically foolproof and accomplish major long term political objectives at low cost and no ongoing US commitment.
Trump: "This is where we came up with a little concept about a place called Venezuela. This is gonna b same thing in terms of its precision. Venezuela was so amazing. But I equate it to other things bc we can do others like it. It doesn't always have to be a Minnesota where everything is corrupt"

A NATO in which the US can steal bits of other allies' territory whenever the President feels like it will not be formidable - it will have collapsed. I keep hoping that a majority in Congress will find the courage to stop Trump, but there is no sign of it happening yet.
